Bama will remain up there until someone takes them down. They are a big target for teams like the Hogs and Faggy. Their bubble may be burst by the time we play them.

Opinions right now don't mean squat. Let's hope LSU takes care of business and they'll be on top.

In their defense, they do come across as a very good team. They've got a coach that gets in their arse for being sloppy and expects excellence.

They're the chosen one by the media, which I guess is deserved after watching how they bounced back. It's always been like that and another arse whipping is the only thing that will bring them down.

I just hope the team is as cocky and complacent as their fans are - if LSU remains focused and improves, the gumps will fall.

My criteria this early is you have to go by wins and losses since we don't know who is "good" yet. Who have you beaten? Who did you lose?

OSU hasn't beaten anyone of note. LSU has beaten Auburn, who by name brand should be good, but likely isn't

Bama has a win over UGA, but lost to Ole Miss. I don't care if it's a fluke loss, they were down 20 points in that game. "Fluke" turnovers on kickoff returns don't happen when a guy puts his head or shoulder on the ball in a good tackle.

Based on results on the field I have:

1. Utah
2. Northwestern
3. Florida
4. I really have no idea. Maybe A&M??

You think Bama is going to lose to two of these three?

Isn't that the truth.

I know it's October. I know TL doesn't pick the 4 that get in. I know the butt hurt comments are bound to come. But the fact that some national talking head can not only call them as top 5 right now, but name them number 1 is the exact same reason GOTC round 2 happened. It's also why the "eyeball test" should be renamed the "Bama gets in because I said" test. I think it should actually be renamed the "break it off in the rest of college football's arse with no lube" test.

I feel like ESPN does this with every thing. They live in the moment. Some pitcher throws a no-hitter and they try to compare him to all-time greats. Happens after every game.

The Bama game wasn't as close as the score indicated. Ole Miss was leading by over three TDs at the end of the game. Ole Miss was dominating them then coasted.

Had Bama not been helped by the refs to get the illegal onside kick then it wouldn't have even looked as close.

This is just like USC back in the day where they aren't affected by losses.

The good thing is the playoff committee will only pick the top 4 conference champions like it should be. Whoever wins the SEC will be the only participant.

USC and Bama have something in common though. Many of their defeats have come fairly early in the season so they could build up their second half resume and win their conference making people forget they ever lost.

How is a team who lost to Ole Miss at home the best team in the country? what a joke.

Bama gets the benefit of the doubt due to talent and Saban, because everybody knows they are CAPABLE of beating any team in the country. But that's not how rankings should be conducted, they should be based on body of work, and I'm sorry but Bama does not have the #1 body of work in the country. Not even close.

They should be penalized for losing just like any team.
