Everyone thinks your point is that it’s hypocritical to apply different logic and standards when evaluating football and basketball success

By the same logic, the football program doesn't deserve the same compliments as there has been no improvement, unlike the basketball program.

i didn't see your post, for one.

The football team did see improvement. The offensive line improved for sure, as did the young defense as the year went on. As shown by the chart below, we have a lot to look forward too in terms of young players coming up.

Look at the schools around us on this chart. 7-6, 2-10, 7-6, 7-6, 1-11.

This is what generally happens when you are forced to play young players.

So was this the line of thinking when Alleva hired Orgeron: He hasn't proven he'll be complete disaster...as long as we ignore what happened at ol miss... so you're hired! How could we fail? If that's good enough I'd like to go ahead and offer a candidate for next time: Tigertex1992!!! Get this: I have zero losses as a head coach! None! I'll do it for half the money... Plus a 10 million dollar but out of course. Give me a chance! See how it plays out! You never know... Right?

We can make this simple. This is post-new hire.

Basketball program:

- Expectation: Improvement in play and overall record.
- Potential to meet expectation: Very High

Result: Marked improvement in play and overall record.

Football program:

- Expectation: Improvement in play and overall record.
- Potential to meet expectation: Moderate

Result: No improvement in play or overall record.

Please explain why you can't understand why the basketball program is getting buzz that the football program isn't. It seems quite clear to everyone else.

What about the one that beat LSU by 30 or the one that made the playoff with a first year HC?

Why exclude them?

The chart includes RS freshmen. That means it's counting snaps played by:

Greedy Williams
Monroe
Cam Lewis
Culp
Thornton
Von Rosenberg
Savage
Cushenberry
Pettigrew
Glen Logan

There's certainly a distinction between those guys and true freshmen 6 months removed from HS.

right, guys who have never played a college snap before.

The criteria remained the same for all teams.

Again, NegaO's can never just take something for what it is. They must discredit discredit discredit. Why?

again, at the risk of repeating myself, playing freshman in mop up time against BYU does not make you a young team.

But guys that have been in a college strength and conditioning program for 1.5 years and have been in the program learning the playbook and scheme.

Facts are simple and facts are straight
Facts are lazy and facts are late
Facts all come with points of view
Facts don't do what I want them to
Facts just twist the truth around
Facts are living turned inside out
Facts are getting the best of them
Facts are nothing on the face of things
Facts don't stain the furniture
Facts go out and slam the door
Facts are written all over your face
Facts continue to change their shape

every other P5 team had the same criteria when making hte chart.

and most of the RSFR you listed didnt even play a full season, much less participated in anything more than special teams

If you're going to claim he's wrong then show some numbers. I'm sure there's a breakdown of snaps from game to game.

If I had to guess I'd say 600+ of those snaps game against BYU.
