I agree with your logic but there is so much politics involved that I think both of them stay even with a losing record this year.

Then LSU will take a big hit financially when they only have 50k people showing up to games and donations fall off. Allowing O and Alleva to keep their jobs with a losing record would cost LSU a lot more money than it would to fire them.

I wish I could agree with that but who is holding Alleva accountable?

If you want to believe the multiple rumors that were floating around last year, plenty of the boosters are unhappy with him and the leash is short.

Especially how the search for HC and OC went down. Hiring of Ensminger was too much.

So much uncertainty at the RB position, no true stud, and we're banking on 3 complete unknowns at the QB position. Oh, more unprovens at the WR position. Wait.......new OL coach.

We'll be fine.

Ed Orgeron’s future as LSU head coach in doubt.

Not gonna happen this year. His future in the minds of a few tiger fans are not in doubt. I think we go 8-4 and start to become a very good team with a quarterback developing into a player we can hang our hat on in 2019

"Come on man... Give 0 a Chance!!!!!111! Miles left the the roster barren! 0 just needs time to put his people in place!"

Give me a break, he fricking lost to Troy, Got blown out by state and couldn't inspire the team in the bowl game. We fired the second winningest coach in LSU history only to promote his defensive line coach to HC and his TE coach to OC. Somehow Jerry Sullivan wheeled his way into the room and now we have 2 wide out coaches. I remember the good ole days when the only thing Steve was trusted with was bringing the Potato Salad to the BBQ. Now somehow he's supposed to be leading a dynamic passing attack??? anyone who believes that is retarded

offense will always be an issue at LSU so long as we trot out a cheerleader at head coach.

If ESPN is correct it should be good bye to Coach O and JA

I think we will do better, but not much

6-6 is pretty realistic.

New QB, new RBs, new OC, new #1 WR, new CBs, and Ed Orgeron is our head coach.

And an absolutely brutal schedule.

I hate to break it to you but O will be here for at least another year.

If he goes 7-5 or 6-6, he's done. 8-4 might buy him another year depending on how the team looks in their loses. You read it here first.

I am not an O fan but him leaving after this season is a pipe dream.

And no one believed they would pull the trigger on miles. Sorry but if o shows regression this year he is out.

“Both statements are true”

The problem is, it’s just not fire or hire. It’s fire and hire. If you mess up either one, you are screwed. To this point in time, the firing has not made LSU better and was therefore a mistake.

Also, we didn’t fire a losing coach. We fired a coach whose last full yr team was nationally ranked and with a bowl win. When you fire a guy like that you better make damn sure you hire a guy who will do better and not worse.

Miles firing should have been done in November 2015. New coach would be in year 3 already.
