Currently has us going 6 and 12 in the sec and losing to houston and st mary’s. Call me crazy but I am thinking no way we lose 16 games on the year and that is pretty much a lock. I still think we will have a winning sec record and make the ncaa tourny.

Edit: up to 11 and 7 right now.

We haven’t looked very good this year. I’m hoping we’re just a young team and we’ll grow to be better but the SEC is brutal too.

6-12? They’re on fricking crack. We lost an OT heartbreaker to the #11 team in the country and got handled by a decent Okie Lite. Both on a neutral court. Our conference opponents have lost to teams like Georgia State, Wofford, Stony Brook, and Northeastern at home. But apparently they’re gonna beat us. That doesn’t make any god damn sense.

6-12 would be grounds for canning Wade

Won’t happen though

We didn't bother showing up against a decent Okie Lite that my undergrad Alma Mater Ouachita Baptist (D2) admittedly played better against in Stillwater than we did on a neutral court, but throwing that game out we've looked dangerous. I see no way in hell we lose that much. This LSU team is going to the tournament, easy

I don't think we'll win it all by any means but I think we can expect a sweet 16 at least

They have us for too many losses, but we need to continue to improve, or they may be right. Waaaaay too many turnovers.
We also seem to lose cohesiveness and intensity at times.... a sign of youth.

Yep, I'm sure it's based on what we've done so far and the Okie St. and Grambling games made us look like a 6-12 SEC team though I think the talent is definitely better than that. But you got to show it and honestly we have not show we can consistently with this team. My hope of course is that changes....I think it will.

FWIW- Kenpom.com is a far better predictive analytics site. They predict LSU to go 19-12, 9-9 in SEC. I think that’s a more reasonable estimate at this point then BPI.

I don't think there is a person alive who knows what this team is going to do, but if Naz Reid and Tremont Waters don't change their ways soon it could be a very long year.

If you are expecting that then you are setting your self up for disappointment. At this point we have beaten nobody and lost to the only good teams we've played. A tourney birth would be a start

I looked at one of the rpi sites a few days ago and they predicted us and Tennessee to have the same record at 18 wins. Tennessee so far is the best team in the SEC.

There isn't enough data to trust those formulas yet.

yeah well, their football predictor is wrong most of the time as well. The only had us winning about 5 games at the beginning of the season.

I think Houston on road is a must win.
They need something for the committee to be impressed with on the non conf schedule.
Otherwise it's just more pressure for SEC finish.

Reid has definitely made an improvement in how he’s played. He was working out of the high post instead of the low post, but the majority of his shots came around the basket. He also did a better job of working within the offense and getting his teammates involved.

We let FSU beat us twice with Okie st, thats my opinion on that. These guys are young and gave that FSU game away and then sulked about it vs okie st. Houston, st mary’s, and Furman are all decent teams we have before the sec even starts. I would like to see us win those games when conferance play starts. Again I think we will have a winning sec record and make the ncaa tourny. If we make tourney I think we probably make the second round for a 50/50 game to make the sweet sixteen. Just my take.

I don't see 6-12. But I don't see the NCAAT as a "lock" either. The SEC looks to be very strong this season and right now this team hasn't shown they can play consistent defense vs. anyone with a pulse. The one exception is that they did play pretty good D vs. FSU, only to get absolutely crushed on the boards.

Playtime is over starting this week. They go to Houston for their only true road game of the OOC schedule. Houston is well coached under Sampson and undefeated. However, they have played a terrible schedule to date. It's hard to know just how good they really are, but a road win by LSU could start to turn things back around.

After that is a neutral site game vs. St. Mary's. This probably isn't the best St. Mary's team in the last several years, but they are always a tough opponent.

Then LSU comes home to play maybe the most surprising team of the year thus far, Furman...who is currently ranked in the top 25 (though the advanced metrics say they aren't quite that good)

Even with the struggles on D, LSU will likely be favored in all 3 games. Win all three, then they are in decent shape going into SEC play. lose 2 or more, then they are going to have to do a TON of work in a very tough conference to make the NCAAT and keep this from being a wildly disappointing season.

There is enough talent on this team to make a big run. Unfortunately, right now the whole isn't greater than the individual pieces. It's Wade's job to get them playing well as a team. If that takes checking some big egos, then so be it.

We are definitely young. And just my opinion, but the only game we really jjust didnt show up at all for was okie st. Had we won that game we had sewed up with FSU we would be ranked pretty well right now. But thats the way it goes.
