Our o-line was solid last season. Guice/Fournette combined for 2,230 yards rushing and 24 touchdowns. Our defense literally allowed the least amount of touchdowns in the country. We got third in our division.

Schlabach is the one who said Etling and the offense "struggled mightily" in the Spring Game. You know, the one with the new OC that only went 2 quarters. I was actually impressed at the execution. I bet he didn't even watch the game nor realize it was called at halftime.

He isn't wrong. Etling was 4-11 for 53 yards and an interception in the televised first half of the spring game.

I'm not saying it was great, but I defy you to use a measure suggesting it was awful. Unless, like not being able to count, you don't know what the word awful means.
That said, with some unlucky injuries, it's not crazy we could finish 8-4 and 4th in the West. I don't think we will, but I'm not ready to murder Schlabach over his prediction. Though I don't read anything he writes.

Last year in the SEC Etling was 10th in passing yards, 10th in Touchdowns, 8th in completion percentage, 7th in QB rating. Those are the 4 most important categories for a qb and he was awful in all of them.

Etling was a hell of a lot better last year than a 4/11 qb. Anyone using a spring game to predict success is not very bright. That said, who gives a shite what some reporter writes. It is comical for anyone to pick a&m over us, especially since we get them at home.

So he was middle of the pack in meaningful stats ( rating and %)...in his first year playing in the sec...yet he was awful? Lmao. I'd say with surgery and a real oc, he will likely improve to the top 5 this year. The fact that you even use total yards and touchdowns as a measure tells us how brilliant you are. So you are comparing him to QBs who pass 30-40 times a game or more? Lol

8.5 yards per attempt (tops in SEC I believe)

144.5 QB rating
As a team LSU avg 32 PPG.
