Auburn played in the January, 2010 game which was the first SECw team since Alabama in 1997.

That would go completely against the Outback bowls history. I think they've taken like one West team in the past 15 years.

I have a bad feeling about the Chick-fill-A

Cotton is a possibility if Texas refuses to play A&M and don't think for a second that Texas wouldn't do it. Besides that scenario of us playing Texas, Atlanta seems to be the consensus. The Outback or Capital One would be a god send at this point. Keep your fingers crossed.

I think UGA or Bama is a shoo in for the Cap One bowl unless one or the other gets blown out. USCe seems likely for the Outback unless they get intrigued by the LSU Michigan storylines, which I could see.

Agree, but wouldn't LSU have to guarantee x amount of tickets sold?

I believe there is going to be some hard politicking behind the scenes this week to keep us out of the Chick-fill-A Bowl. Also, we beat SC but I know that really doesn't matter much.

The biggest issue likely sending LSU to the Chick-Fil-A is the the other team will almost certainly be Clemson. The bowl will want no part of a South Carolina-Clemson rematch, so the SEC will have to find another place for USCe. That would drop A&M and the likely Heisman winner to the Chick-Fil-A. Again, really unlikely. I just can't fathom a scenario where LSU doesn't go to Atlanta.

I'd seriously consider going. Not going to Atlanta

I think we'd go to the Cap One over UGA but not Bama. UGa had a pretty light schedule and there's still a bit of a feeling they are a paper tiger. Also, the Cap One has a history of passing over the SECCG loser.

I think the Cotton is almost certain to take A&M, who is really their dream team. LSU is coming to Dallas next year and can't be an attractive option at all. I think we'd have a good shot to buck tradition in the Outback to set up the first LSU-Michigan matchup in football history. They would have to salivating over that potential game. Also, LSU beat USCe head to head, and they'd be the other team on the board.

ETA: The team that could be real nervous is UGA. If they win, they are in the title game. If they lose, you know the Peach Bowl would move heaven and earth to set up a Clemson-UGA matchup, a restoration of a traditional rivalry game. If the Cap One passes over a two-loss UGa team, they could fall long and hard.

I'm seeing this posted a good bit. Why do so many of y'all think Michigan is going to the Outback? I think they're much more likely to go to the Cap One. The Outback will likely have Northwestern.

Wisconsin-Nebraska winner to the Rose Bowl. Loser to the Cap One. Michigan to the Outback. I don't see the Big Ten getting two BCS teams, do you?

7-6 Wisconsin isn't going to the Cap One Bowl. Michigan will go to the Cap One.

Northwestern is sitting at 9-3. They're very much in the Cap One discussion.

Name brand. Michigan or Northwestern. Come on.

Plus you could get an LSU/Michigan match up. That's made for TV.

No, not at all. But Michigan is a much more attractive option than the Big Ten CG loser, IMO. If it that team is Wisconsin, I'd be shocked if the Cap One took them over either Michigan or Northwestern.

Agree, the 1 team that wants the Chick Bowl is Vandy and in a perfect world would deserve to go. The problem is the SEC has 6 teams with 10 wins. Also, LSU is basically stuck because a SC and Clemson rematch is a non starter. As stated by another poster, an arse kicking of Georgia by Alabama might be the only way we could back door into the Capital One Bowl.

The Michigan v LSU game is a game that would capture Americas attention.
