Dallas Morning news has LSU in the Outback.

we'll stop the triple option... just not the spread with premier speed or a great RB like Moreno. Tech doesn't have the athletes to pose those problems
We do not have the depth of athletes...but we have the athletes.
Our BB, Jon Dwyer was one of the top 10 RB's in the country out of high school...6-1, 235 with 4.4 speed. Jon chose GT over Auburn, Georgia, FSU, and Michigan. He is averaging 7.0 ypc.
At AB, Roddy Jones was heavily recruited in the southeast (chose GT over Clemson)...has solid 4.5 speed...and 4.02 in the short shuttle. He is averaging 9.2 ypc.
Lastly, the QB Josh Nesbitt was one of the top dual threat QB's (9th by Rivals) in the country out of high school...has 4.55 speed. He chose GT over UGA, Florida, FSU, and South Carolina.
The challenge is the offense has no seniors and only two juniors...so they still have off-days.
Defensively, we will have three DL's taken on the first day of the draft this April...one could slip to third round but the other two are definite. The other DL, soph. DE Derrick Morgan, will be in the NFL. He was offered by everyone out of high school...rated #6 DE in the country out of high school by Rivals...we beat Ohio St., Penn St., Miami, and Notre Dame for his services.
I would be remiss if I did not mention your own Daryl Richard...class valedictorian out of Destrehan in 2004 that chose GT over Miami, LSU, and Notre DAme. He graduated Destrehan with a 4.6 GPA and graduated GT in three years and will also have his masters by June. He will be a top three round draft pick...a first class kid on and off the field. Louisiana should be extremely proud of this young man..he is a fine representative.
At FS, you have Morgan Burnett...his brother played at UGA and UGA wanted Morgan badly. He was offered by everyone (UGA, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, etc.) out of high school...a -star player and future NFL'er that tied for the national lead in INT's with seven.
In a nutshell...the athletes are there...we just never have the depth of the football factories. We never have...we never will...and that is ok. It is not a requirement to win consistently at the college level.
You guys are definitely stocked with great athletes...this will be an excellent game.

I'm looking forward to seeing this game. Georgia completely shut down Tech's triple option attack in the first half by stuffing the run inside and our safeties and DB's coming up and making big run stops at the line of scrimmage on their sweep and option plays. Assignment football. Paul Johnson made a couple of simple adjustments (mainly cracking back on our safeties and DB's) when they ran the option of speed sweep play and our dumbasses somehow coldn't figure out what to do about it - as they reeled of 26 unanswered points after halftime. Tech threw 2, count em 2 passes the entire game, and managed to rush for 400 + yards on us - most of it coming in the 3rd quarter. You have to play assignment football against their offense (as we did in the 1st half) and you HAVE to react to the adjustments Paul Johnson will make throughout the game and especially at half time. He's a solid coach running that offense mostly because he's great at adjusting to what the D is doing.
I hope LSU puts a world class pounding on the Nerd Squad off North Avenue.

According to cfbstats, we gave up an average of 130 rushing yards per game against SEC opponents (roughly similar in quality to GT). YPC average: 3.6. I think this is gonna be an uphill struggle for our guys because of the tackling issues, but after looking at these number I feel better about our chances to hold GT to under 30 points. Of course, I suppose UGA thought the same thing.

No, there are other projections out there, inluding LSU in the Outback vs Iowa and S. Carolina in the Peach vs Ga Tech.

I do not have good memories of LSU. Godsey getting hurt in the game, Rohan running roughshod. So, looking for redemption in this one. I love the LSU fans. This should be a very loud dome, I hope. We beat Miss. State 38-7 and UGAy 45-42. I hope that means Tech wins, but you just never know. I know you have athletes & depth. If we get injured or turn it over (as you guys could), it will totally change the game.
So how disciplined are the DB's and LB's at LSU? That's going to be the key to stopping the WreckBone.
Are you guys balanced on offense? Our defense played pretty well all year, but Stafford, Green & Massaquoi lit our secondary up for 28 in one half.

That was horrible...that was also two head coaches ago for us, one for LSU...and we lost offensive coordinator Ralph Friedgen to Maryland right after the UGA game that year...that was a nightmare! The Godsey got hurt...our punt returner fumbled something like 3 or 4 punts without being hit! It was horrendous.
