After notching their first 10-win season since 2013, the LSU Tigers head into 2019 with plenty of optimism. Ed Orgeron just signed a top-10 recruiting class, starting quarterback Joe Burrow is back and things are generally looking up in Death Valley.
quote:

Strength heading into spring: Dare we say it's the continuity on offense? The Tigers bring back four starting offensive linemen, all their top receivers, their quarterback and their offensive coordinator (Steve Ensminger). That should bode well for a unit that has seen regular turnover in the past decade (rare has been the year that LSU has brought back both the starting quarterback and the offensive coordinator from the same season).

Biggest offseason position battle:

Question mark heading into spring:

Instant impact addition:

2019 game to get excited about now:
quote:

Spring storyline to watch: The Tigers' offense took some steps forward in 2018 behind grad transfer quarterback Burrow and offensive coordinator Ensminger and now LSU adds a new face to the mix: passing game coordinator Joe Brady, who came to the team from the New Orleans Saints. Orgeron said he was impressed by Brady's knowledge and mastery of the run-pass option game, which is something Orgeron said he wants to increase the presence of in LSU's offense. How Brady's addition and more run-pass option concepts find their way into the Tigers' offense this spring will be interesting. "We are retooling the offense," Orgeron said. "It's exactly what I wanted from the get-go. I think Joe and Steve Ensminger will work well together."

I'm so pumped about the high expectations. Thanks for posting this Ree. I'll be glad to quote this next season when you start making excuses.

The author missed a fact check. We played Texas in the Cotton Bowl after the 2002 season. The does not quite add up to "more than 60 years."

I have told you a couple times already. When you are an alter you have to act like an alter - or someone who has been a member for two months - or since last football season had ended.

You suck very badly at this.

I'm sure you will be very happy to have any opportunity to bash the LSU football program. It's obvious since you seem to be taking the post in the OP personally.

For a 2-month member you are a whack job.

imo the early rankings don't have us higher because of the conference and division we play in. yeah, a&m is 1 notch ahead of us in the latest, and no doubt that is due to coaching comparisons, but I still think my observation is valid.

I expect us to blow a&M out at home this year.

The poster is a TROLL and an alter.

He even lets it be known he is a troll.

Take his username, if you remove 3 letters and 2 numbers and you have "TROLLING".

Tr - ev = rolling - s29

Trolling

The guy is an idiot. He thinks he is clever but after reading one post it is obvious he is very wrong.

Another post that you and your 4 alters keep repeating so much that you believe its true. You're a conspiracy theory kind of guy.

I think we have a very good team. I thought this years team was very talented as well.

All I'm saying is that I'm glad people like you are finally ready to set expectations and not sitting here talking about a patch work ol or burrows time on campus. Time go go our there and win.

This can't be true. A Duke-trained scientist and his legion of mindless minions said this offense is the worst in modern LSU history.

Did any of them specifically say that they didn't think that 2019 couldn't be successful? Or are you just inferring that since they said last year wasn't good that next year can't be either?

Yeesh. How petty can one man be?

I'm excited about the potential of the team and not really thinking about the potential of the team letting me down as an opportunity to talk shite to other posters. But I guess to each his own.

Good Lord, Trev. Sounds like you're already saying the team won't be good next season.

Dude just shut the frick up... if arguing on the internet is more important to you than discussing the actual team, then go to the poli board. There’s enough of that shite for you over there..

It’s almost like y’all take more pride in being able to come here and say ‘I told you so’ than being proud of the fact that the team you root for is good - I’m tired of this nonsense.

Yeah, they say that we have no chance with this OC and he must be replaced and will "allow" him to return to TE coach. It happens in every thread that expresses any inkling of optimism in the offense.

Exactly! No more excuses. 11-1 with a win over Alabama and a west title.

That's why Alleva made the hire and that's exactly what our expectations should be for four years after a change.

Most of what I've seen has been about last season. But, I purposely haven't been reading all of the football threads because as you pointed out it seems to be a giant shitfest. I don't recall Rick ever saying that the 2019 offense can't be successful. That's why I asked.
