The frick is your problem? Does Eric Reid have a right to intentionally kneel during the anthem as a sign of protest? Yes. Does everyone else have the right to call his form of protest bullshite and disrespectful? Attention whoring and effectively promoting false narratives? That it's stupid and pointless? Yes.

You're on some bullshite high horse bitching about people who are expressing their own political free will to reject people who shite on things they personally have great reverence for. So get over it and quit acting like you don't understand how they can legitimately be fed up with these athletes and their political demonstrations.

There are guidelines to flag etiquette in our country, but there is no law that says he has to stand during the National Anthem.

How misguided is someone who protests a country for being terrible to minorities when you're a minority who gets paid millions of dollars to play a child's game in that country? The only place on earth you can do that at this level.

it's ignorant as hell

You find it ignorant because you don't share the same view of the situation. Look, I work with "marginalized" students here in BR. There is a lot of anger about what has been going on. You can't just walk in and start telling them they are wrong and that they need to fix their own problems.

There is a cycle of poverty, and those people in our country are predominately black. Poor people tend to be responsible for more crime, and that spurs interactions with the police.

Death at the hands of the police is statistically rather rare, but the media blows everything out of proportion. At the end of the day, these are just symptoms of a greater problem.

Perhaps your view is that they need to fix their own problems. I happen to think that they need a hand. No, they don't need handouts, they need people to listen.

I prefer to see Leonard running and dural catching vs Jacob running and Quinn catching. Sad but true.

Where else are you going to get paid and have the same exposure for playing American football?

Kind of funny a dude is kneeling to protest racial injustice but is married to a white chick and cashes million dollar checks written to him by a white dude to be an entertainer bc that's basically all pro athletes are, here for everyone's entertainment.

I've listened. They need to get their own house in order. And that starts with a stable family unit.

no I find it ignorant because it is. The entire BLM movement is ignorant. They say they want change and a discussion, until you try to have a discussion. They speak in vague generalities. They fail to state what legislatively is a problem, what they want changed, and how to implement that change. It's just a bunch of hollering. Yes there are racists. There will always be racism as long as humanity exists, but they cannot point to one specific government institution and/or law that is inherently racist. It's all complete bullshite. Honestly their main complaints come down to socioeconomic status more than anything, but of course that's because of racism too. It's just a crutch so there doesn't have to be any personal accountability

Reading social media postings doesn't count. Get out in the community and work with "those people." Be a positive role model to kids that don't live in stable family units. It's easy to judge from afar.
