I'd enjoy it if all athletes would just shut up and play... same with musicians, actors, and politicians... hell, really just anyone

They LEFT the United States peacefully and charted their own future as a DIFFERENT nation of it's own standing. Once this happened, they were no longer part of the United States so they were incapable of committing treason. They had no plans to control or invade or take away anything from the north. The north invaded their country and they defended themselves. Follow the money. You have been taught to hate based upon the north's story. Their story leaves a lot of the FACTS out and throws in saving the slaves as their justification for the massive slaughter they committed against the south. This has nothing to do with the stupidity of ER or CK. It has everything to do with YOUR stupidity.

no, we want ALL athletes, actors, singers, etc to just shut up and entertain us. We're paying customers, after all.

Now, if they want to be activists ON THEIR OWN TIME, thats generally fine, although they often are uninformed and are taking improper advantage of their fame. But during the event itself? No.

And I don't give a damn what the melanin content of their skin is.

The Dixie Chicks were about as white and hot as anyone could be professionally until their lead singer opened her stupid mouth during the Iraq war, overseas at that. Entertainers and athletes, who really are nothing more than entertainers, need to understand that we, the customer, pay money to be entertained, NOT politicized.

every confederate soldier is a traitor to this country and this flag. you know the flag youre so upset about ER and CK disrespecting?

the fact that idiots like you rationalize killing of US military men and yet get pissed at peaceful protest is astonishingly hypocritical.

if you support anything to do the confederate movement and get upset about ER and CK youre a massive hypocrite.

its cute watching you claim that leaving the US and starting your own nation ISNT TRAITOROUS. my god

ETA: down vote all you want but......

youre ok with Confederate soldiers killing US service men because they were standing up for their beliefs

but not ok with someone peacefully protesting their beliefs.

if you cant see the hypocrisy in thatn then you just dont want to see it

Radio stations stopped playing their music, fans boycotted them....NFL players who protest the anthem during games and the fans that defend them ought to see it for what it is, (fans exercising their right to boycott them) and it has nothing to do with race.

exactly.

ER and CK are free to protest.
JUST LIKE owners are free to hire whomever they want.
JUST LIKE fans are free to be turned off by ER and CK's stances.

I see you like to play the victim.

Reid is learning the hard way, outspoken people aren't very popular with business and industry, and it has absolutely nothing to do with race.

Boo hoo. Freedom of speech has consequences at times. The owners are running a business, they don’t care about racial and social injustice. There has not been one thing accomplished through this side show. Not one. Everyone knows racism exists. It does with all races. But, if you think I am going to side with protesters that are millionaires? Forget it. Put you money where your mouth is.....do something with your money and time that makes a difference.

Well look at the bright side now Eric. You'll have plenty of time now to knell and protest all you like to, .

Basically with all of these kneelers, your play has to be great to overcome the headaches you cause and the decrease in revenue that the free market is expressing.

The stupidly is revealed in denying the opportunities that exist for blacks in America which is home to 35,000 black millionaires.

I'm going to go ahead and assume that these guys are kneeling not for social justice, but for their own financial gain. Think about it... if you are a kneeler, you have something to point to when you get cut or can't get a job, possibly leading to a payday via a lawsuit. However, if you do not kneel, you're just S.O.L.

Don't bite the hand that feeds you. So the NFL losses over 500 million to a billion dollars and you think there will be no consequences for the cause. I will watch 1 game a year as a social event only. Reid is supposed to be super smart but obviously no common sense.

Yep probably true and 100% your own fault. Now you are only remembered for looking like a complete jackass and disgrace to this country. Nobody thinks of you and says oh Eric Reid really made a difference to this country because he kneeled during the anthem... your voice wasn’t heard and you cost yourself a once in a lifetime opportunity. Congratulations, I really don’t even feel remotely sorry for you.
