Why? Because all African American football athletes are well spoken? Sheesh

YOU are the one making this sound racist man. people are either well spoken or they are not. it is a FACT that people that are "well spoken" get better jobs and are seen as more intelligent. this apples to all races and both genders. just because some damn sports announcers were surprised back in day when they encountered a black athlete that was well spoken some people now view the whole damn comment as racist. i don't see why so many people call racist so much. bull shite imo.

No, I was thinking he was.

He directed the message towards me so when he spoke generally I took it to include me.

kinda reminds me of the time they interviewed Hakeem 'the dream' right after they had tried to coax one coherent sentence out of three of John Thompson's scholar athletes.

life is funny sometimes....and sometimes it isn't.

Everything about Eric Reid has been ahead of his time, from starting early, his poise, his play, in interviews and elocution,etc..

Then again, he's from great folks, and of fine loins..the kid's a natural!

secman12, you don't owe anyone an apology - you complimented a fine young man and yet a few turds on here are trying to be cute. When a man tries to be cute to another man, well that tells me everything I need to know about him.

Take that back! It offends me when people apologize for offending people that shouldn't have been offended in the first place. Hope that doesn't offend you.

Screw all you PC liberal assholes that think complimenting someone that speaks well is offensive.

Not everyone was offended, not everyone reads something into everything written either

FWIW, I have a niece at LSU who makes great grades and is a social "draw" and she is hardly well spoken so it's a compliment to the young man

and yes, I love everything I have heard or read about Eric Reid, what a great future that young man has

Alright, listen here. It's not a secret that generally, there are far fewer African American athletes that are "well-spoken" than white athletes. I was just pointing out his blind attempt at political correctness. Both of you need to get off your high horse. It's not about pretending there's no differences between races. It's about recognizing, respecting, and celebrating those differences.

The best thing going for him is his intelligence. That's what separates him from a lot of players. He is extremely sharp.

It shouldn't, he speaks in complete sentences with proper english. He was Valedictorian at dutchtown.
Don't have to worry about him failing drug tests. He's at LSU to do two things, get a degree and play football.
I'd take a whole team full of Eric Reids'.

That's just me though.

Too bad you cannot praise someone without some PC jerkoff getting his panties in a wad.

I didn't know all this about Reid. Thanks for posting that - that is the kind of kid I want to to to bat for any day.

Screw that. I am so sick of the stupid diversity pushing commercials I hear on the radio in the wee hours of the morning it makes me sick.

They act like it is a sin to live in a subdivision with mostly white folks. Screw all that. Stop bring up race at all and lets do like Martin Luther Kings said and be basically color blind.

The OP didn't bring up race at all. So it is impossible for his statement to be racist. IF however you dumbass self thought it was racist then you are the ahole racist.

Why did you think it was racist? Answer that? Do you think blacks as a race in general can't speak clearly? If not then you wouldn't have thought it was racist. So all you pricks that called him racist are the racist ones.

Compare an interview with say Jamarcus Russell and RG3... But Reid is the real deal and does rather well in classes
