Ran into Eric Reid on campus a few weeks ago. What a great, well spoken down to earth guy. I am proud to have this guy on our team on and off the field. I have to think one reason our DB"s were so great last year was his leadership on and off the field. TM7 is great, love him, but Reid IMO does not get enough credit. Looking forward to 2012 with this guy.

DUTCH WHO?

But seriously, my favorite player on the team. I've talked to him a bunch. Just a great dude.

Why? Because all African American football athletes are well spoken? Sheesh.

In his defense, a lot of college football players, especially young, talented ones, are not well-spoken, regardless of their race. Some people inherit brains and no athleticism, some people inherit athleticism and no brains. And the more talented they are, the easier it is to coast through high school and BS classes in college without anyone holding them accountable.

Just sayin...

To take it further, I think most football players sound less than Socrates when speaking. It has nothing to do with race and a lot to do with the education (or lack thereof) that star football players get.

I agree. Just sick of all the struggle to find flaws in others' PC these days.

Then clearly you dont listen to most post game interviews. If you put NCAA Div 1 football players in two buckets - one which is well spoken and one that is not, the latter would be much fuller.

But by all means, return to your feigned passive aggressiveness....

It shouldn't, he speaks in complete sentences with proper english. He was Valedictorian at dutchtown.
Don't have to worry about him failing drug tests. He's at LSU to do two things, get a degree and play football.
I'd take a whole team full of Eric Reids'.

That's just me though.

I say this all the time about people in all different walks of life...at work, sometimes about athletes, sometimes about friends of friends....Well spoken is a good thing, and the vast majority of people are NOT well-spoken, so when someone is, it's definitely something I notice and usually comment on.

Are you trying to imply that the OP saying that is in some way wrong?

wow, sorry I offended people...not sure I need to defend myself here, thanks to the others, but I have met and spoken to likley over 100 LSU players in many sports and have a college student in my house, believe it or not, some of the students I come across speak better than others, and not all of them are black!!! ever try to understand a cajun, met Nicky Savoie! nice guy, but still not sure what he said to me! As for Reid, always nice to hear a "yes sir" from anyone under 22 and it's rare...guess I am just an old fashin bigot...
