A total waste of time, money, and television. Blame it on Title IX. Seriously, it's like watching 8th grade basketball.

I'd bet that any decent 8th grade boys AAU would destroy the Ladies.

The US women's national soccer team, arguably one of the top 3 in the world, lost 5-2 to the u-15 FC Dallas academy team. Not even the best u-15 boys in the country, just the best on that MLS team. They also lost to the mens U-17 team 8-2 a few years ago, I heard from people that saw the scrimmage that the scoreline flattered the women.

This isn't a sexist point of view, it's just that men are significantly better than women in almost every sporting event.

The same can be said that if you ran Usain Bolt against the fastest women sprinter, and she lost to him, your opinion would be that women's track is "crappy".

That's not an accurate comparison to what he was talking about. For your example, it would need to be a guy that was a decent track athlete at his local high school that could easily beat one of the top female track stars in the country. He wasn't saying that Lebron James could beat the top WBBA player. I hear and understand what he's saying. On the other hand, if you listen to any of the talking heads on TV, you would think that women are close if not better than men in many athletic areas. Sure we know it isn't true, but it's the PC garbage that's spewed out every day.

I am about done with this crazy arguement, but one last thing. This wasn't a hs boy beating a hs girl. This was a decent playing hs boy DESTROYING everybody's all american girl player. At my tender age of 16-17 at the time, my eyes were opened wide as to how "bad" girls are at hoops compared to guys. I have known this for 30+ yrs now. This isn't a new revelation to me. I was simply responding to a previous poster (in support with a personal anecdote) about how college girls play like 8th graders.

Pianoman, i was typing my post when you were typing yours and you NAILED IT. The talking heads on tv DO give the impression that the girls can compete, and it is COMPLETE PC BS. PC is the biggest problem we face in this country today. Free speech is only available to liberals and minorities today.

You guys are all morons.

The TV analysts don't say anything close to "women basketball players are as good as men". It might be what you are HEARING, but it's certainly not what's SAID. Again, you guys just need to say "I hate women's basketball" and be done with it. Your comparisons make absolutely no sense. Boys / Men athletes should not be compared to Girls / women athletes. I could care less how many 8th grade boys (who have hit puberty by the way) can beat women in sports. That in no way reduces how competitive women are against other women, or men are against other men. Men are larger, have more muscle mass, and are generally taller than women. How hard is that to understand.

I always have a laugh with all you "I hate women's sports" types. It lets me know that most of you have never been an athlete in your life. If you had, you'd know how dumb your arguments sound.

You’re prejudice. Hope you know what the word truly means.

Yes, I truly understand what prejudice is. I'm not prejudiced - just a realist.

One day while was sitting on a bench in the Quad (mid-80's), Garry James walked up and wanted to sit down, but first he asked me:
"Are you prejudiced?" I replied: "Yes, against people who are prejudiced."

Yeah I was close to the women's world record for the mile in HS and went under it by around 8 seconds my freshman year of college. I was not an elite miler either.

You guys are still crackin' me up. Two threads on women's basketball and how it supposedly "sucks" and the coach is making too much money.

Personally, if Nikki gets the team to the sweet sixteen this season, I think they should raise her salary to $800K.

I'm not saying "it sucks", just that it's ridiculous when people claim females can perform just as well as men. If people like women's basketball that's their prerogative.

NOBODY CLAIMS FEMALES PERFORM AS WELL AS MEN. Where in the world are you hearing that?

I like women's basketball but no way do I personally think women perform as well as men. How could they? They're smaller, less athletic, and weaker. No way could they perform like men. Doesn't mean its not entertaining though.
