They've had that in their tailgate policy for years now. They don't enforce it

Thanks for this. Before I spend $1200 on the Honda everyone is talking about (thanks for the sale baws) I wanted to make sure that I didn’t get ticketed or some shite.

What brand generators are y’all using? Thanks for any help in advance.

I have a Bluetti EB55 with a 160Watt solar panel. I can run a TV, ICECO icechest and fan no problem with the solar panel all day. Make sure if you get a battery generator it’s passive and has Lifepo4 lithium batteries. Not all lithium is the same. The lifepo4 can be charged 2500 times without losing total capacity.

You are going to figure out what you want to run in watt hours before you buy.

I have a couple of the Westinghouse IGen2200 and have never had issues with them. Very quite and cheaper than the Honda.

The Honda units are very quiet.

Plenty to run your electric needs at a tailgate.

No hassle if you buy a quiet inverter generator. Agree with all about the Hondas but they are very expensive. The predator generators from Harbor Freight work well and are a fraction of the cost of the Honda - 2 to 3 times less for comparable output. There's got to be a reason for the cost difference and very likely they won't last as long. But I've had one now for several years it's going strong. I do take very good care of it though.

There’s no way to enforce it. It’s not a state law, so PD can’t do shite. If you get asked about it, play dumb.

Buy Honda inverters, you won’t regret it. They’ll run forever and very quiet.

You can find a nib Honda eu2000 for $800 to $950 on Craigs List or on FB Marketplace all the time. Don't wait to buy it the Friday before the game. There are 5 on Facebook in Houston right now

That sounds sketchy. Who would be selling these below retail, and why?

People that bought them thinking that they would need them and did not. Go ahead and buy one at a Honda Motorcycle dealership for $1200 and sleep easy. I bought one for my daughter last year for $750 nib with a warranty from someone
that was scared of power loss during a freeze here in Houston.

I think this is the root of the problem... this is what is listed in the Fan Guide for tailgating. I have no f'ing idea what they mean because everybody has those little suitcase generators that are whisper quiet.

quote:

Generators
• No gas powered generators
• No loud or harmful electric generators

According to my season ticket handbook, gas generators are permitted but are discouraged. The wording basically states that they want the latest and greatest quiet running small generator. They don’t want the huge arse one that takes up the entire truck bed. It’s just to weed out the hillbilly units. If it is gas it needs to be a quiet one like the gas powered inverter.

I bought a Generac 3500IQ today.

I looked into the battery powered ones, and I could not find one that can power 3000 watts for several hours.

Anyone ever have a Firman? Costco has them on sale. 3200/4000 for $749 and 1600/2000 for $399. Costco usually has pretty good stuff and a great return policy.
