Any news regarding this stud? Last I heard he has bulked up pretty nicely. How much playing time and at what position can we expect to see him?

I expected him to contribute more sooner but he has me worried he hasn't been living up to expectations.

he'll be in the rotation at DT. I seem to remember Les speaking highly of him in an interview earlier in the summer.

We have ben so stacked at DL positions he was fortunate to get the time he did get in last year. You gotta give time to Ego, The Freak, Josh Downs, and Bennie Logan.

My question is how in the world did he end up with a number like 9 at DT!

Looked overweight and a little slow last year, IMO.
Hopefully he can play well.

In the spring he was considered ahead of Freak on the depth chart. Expect him to play a ton and to play well. Talent will never be an issue with this kid.

I know what he is but he's in his third year.

I always saw him as a guy who would play 4 years here. So far, he hasn't sniffed much of the field. And I've heard rumors he has been a disappointment to the staff. Not sure how true that is but he definitely hasn't seen the field all that much...

At one point we had a guy on the roster who wasn't even on ship who was ahead of him...

Hopefully he will make the #9 proud... someone else didn't.

Ego tended to stand up after the snap when he first got to LSU, allowing the OL to get under him and drive him back. He looked bad in the 2011 spring game.

I thought he got better in 2011 as the year went on, and gave us some quality minutes in relief. Remember at least one pass he batted down at the LOS.

If he improves as much again this year, he'll be a valuable addition to the two-deep. Not bad at all, considering he's only going to be a sophomore this year.

He looked pretty good in the spring game. He'll be a nice addition to the rotation. When you play behind 2 or 3 future first rounders you kind of have to wait your turn.

I'm not sure but I think he won one of the spring defensive awards. He was considered by many ahead of the freak leaving the spring camp, so I think he's going to be a very good player for us. Also remember coming from high school, he was a DE and having to make the transition to DT is not an easy thing. Lets just be patient with the kid, he will be very special.

I feel like some of the people in this thread are talking out of their arse - he wasn't the star of the DL but he played plenty as an underclassman on a great DL
