Not sure his stats totally make this case. They are not all that gaudy, and seem to bounce up and down, even during Les' OC and HC years there.
Let me reiterate:
quote:

More importantly, Miles has head coached 4 of Top 5 LSU Os
The above is a much better data set, but oft ignored since it dims Saban's time here.

Not directed at Jawga, but it's amazing the lengths some will go to to discredit any success Miles has had.
In their eyes Miles shoulders all blame for facets of the team that struggle and should get no credit for those that do well.
No credit for good 05--'07 Os, full credit for bad '08-'10 Os. All credit for bad '08 D and no credit for contributing to any good Ds (lucky for Les, LSU has Chavis )
Even though 2011 O is LSU #2 all time, it's lumped in with bad Os since it lost one game (as direct result of Miles meddling)
2012 is Miles fault for OC choices, and the meddling (which of course he never was guilty of in '05-'07 ).

Stats about Offensive rankings are up and down for every team every year. There is not a team out there in D1 that stays toward the top in offense every year.

If he is so offensive minded, why is LSU's production decreasing over the years???

I bet they have been above us by at least 10-20 spots in the rankings over the past 5 years.

and the school is enjoying the most success it has had in the program's history.

Interesting.

So what you are saying is that Miles at okie state was like Saban at LSU and Gundy at okie state is like Miles at LSU.

You would think Miles would get a little more respect.

I think he is trying to say that people have the misconception that Les Miles knows nothing about coaching an offense and has never had any success doing so. He is simply pointing out that that is not necessarily the case.

Really? I got just the opposite impression. Posting numbers that show that, in 8 years as OC or HC at Oklahoma State, his offenses had no top-20 finishes and only 3 top-50 finishes, seems more like an argument against Miles' offensive prowess, not for it.
