Daronte was a bad hire.
No shite we are predictable on D.

quote:no shite. really? You mean the look the opponent QB sees being exactly the same look post snap makes it too damn easy? Who woulda thunk it.
Said the coaches did self scouting last week and it showed the defense is too predictable. Went on to say they need to have more variety of looks on defense to disguise coverages.
Could at least fake a blitz every now and then. Could pretend we have a Honey Badger, Adams, or Delpit who is going to show up and wreak havoc.

Biggest issue on defense is the lack of adjustments and guys not in the right position he stated

The worst part is that if you are in a basic coverage the adjustments you make with different formations or motions are soooo easy. When you are in exotic looks and people come in weird formations and/or change alignments it's taught to check into those basic coverages we run.
UCLA says hey.

Aren’t 2 of his 3 son’s analysts? Sounds like those jobs are given more as rewards to friends and family vs people qualified to do the actual job?

They probably thought the blitzes weren’t predictable because Peetz couldn’t pick them up on film. Good lord what a horrendous coaching staff.

Yeah, Saban rehabs former head coaches for analysts while Ed hires his kids.
Posted on 11/1/21 at 5:45 pm to Tiger Don 318
It took Ed 8 games to realize rushing 4 and dropping 7 on 99.9% of our defensive snaps is too predictable.

Not sure there is a response to that.
At this point clean house and start from ground zero and put a 3 year plan in place. It should be expected that the next two years may be tough.

Good thing they figured this out. I’m looking forward to a great week of practice. Maybe even the best of the season.

It didn't take an off week to realize that
It did if you are Ed Orgeron. Hell he probably had to be told by someone else.

The Coordinators weren’t ready for their jobs. They are learning as they go and can only do so much before changing things up

My question is why did it take so long to point out the obvious?
They know the problems. They’re obvious to all. The problem is this coaching staff has NO idea how to FIX the problems.

Can we just make it where he doesn't say anything else for the rest of the season? It's almost painful to watch interviews at this point.
