Coach O gave you the best team and the best season in college football history.
Afterwards, he lost his coaching staff to better jobs and money.
He lost his most of his starters to the draft
Covid Hit hard and players tanked not to get hurt before the draft
Unlimited Transfers with no penalty became the norm.
The man got a divorce from his wife who was hooked on pain killers and booze.
Putting together a Championship team is not as easy as buying stuff online, it takes a lot of team building, a lot of luck and things have to go well on and off the field. One injury to a key player can make the difference.
People on here like to judge and are harsh but the man bled purple and gold and brought a toughness to the team.
Any coach who wins a nat champ should be given more than 2 seasons to right the ship considering all the other factors involved.

I moved several states away and guess I just missed "exactly" what Orgeron did!? Seriously, I have read many threads, posts and the "chasing tail" seems to be the main issue that screwed the program?! I know that has caused many guys to be divorced and "cost" them financially in court. But guys get screwed in divorce court always, anyway. Guy's screwing around is nothing new, and while I don't condone it, it usually does not screw up their "performance" or talents. In fact, it often seems to increase their productivity.
I'm not trolling here. But I just hav'nt really read or seen the obvious, specific factors that would attribute to a "demise". Evidently, I'm ignorant or misinformed? I get that a "political correct" American society or corporate institution will view men "screwing around" as a deal breaker. Unfaithful women, however, are generally left alone and irrelevant as far as business goes. And I CLEARLY did not like Ed's wife and how she was the only Coach's wife I ever saw that would "inject" herself in the TV spot light after every win & chance she got. So, there could have been "reason" for Ed to be having problems in his marriage and screwing around.
Help me out to understand what Ed really, actually did apart from moral "perception".

After the 2019 championship season, CEO got the golden contract and that’s when he laid back and quit caring. Same reason BK didn’t try and the same will happen again if it’s not an incentive based contract.

Like Saban at LSU.
Fans back then were swearing LSU made Saban. LSU didn't make Kelly. He did it to himself, with Woody's help.
Wonder how long before LSU makes another Champion?

Rosters completely turn over every 12-24 months with NIL and the portal. Kelly’s best team was with O’s players. We are not in this place due to O.

So now we know you’ve never rewatched the 2019 season. It was definitely a thing.

Orgeron had a history of doing what he did 2020-2021. This was no surprise. He won the natty and he got lazy. It’s amazing the excuses these Orgeron sycophants will make for him just because he won the NC in 2019. He was in no way locked in on maintaining the program at an elite status. Yes he won the NC in 2019. Yes he signed Burrow and Brady. He absolutely gets credit for that but once they left he didn’t know what to do. And you might explain away 2020 but 2021 too? It is what it is. Orgeron had the same issues at USC and Ole Miss. he’s had 5 losing seasons as HC and 3 winning seasons so he was an avg. coach that hit the lottery in 2019.

Didn’t his wife have an affair with Scott Woodward?

Ok, I’m not sure how you think that’s a flex, but regardless, what did she do that was so bad in your opinion?

I don't think Orgeron's wife was sitting on the bench or even on the sidelines.....but somehow, she would immediately "appear" right behind or next to Ed as soon the game ended to run out on mid-field to shake the other coaches hand.
Every college team's sideline is packed with over 200+ people/players/state police/cameras/journalists.... all suddenly moving after the final second - not sure where to - as the "pack" moves/shifts you must "jockey for position" as the tight huddle/meeting occurs between the 2 Head Coaches. It's not an appropriate, or even Safe place to be, if you are small/short woman! Especially while trying to "keep everything together" for the live tv cameras. You would clearly see her "primping her hair/clothes" while enroute to the mid-field stage!
After every game we would see her suddenly appear & attach herself to her hubby/coach to get, be & stay "on camera" as long as possible! No quite "front - center" camera (although it certainly appeared/felt that she would have liked it).....but "right next" to Ed & often hanging onto him while he was being interviewed Live on National TV!
I have NEVER seen another Coach's wife do this! Yet, Orgeron's wife made sure to do this EVERY GAME! All I'm saying.....is that this is Very Weird, Odd - Bold (Controlling?!) Behavior from his Wife! It is Highly Likely that type of person/wife would bring considerable challenges, problems & could be quite difficult to live and be married to!! All while trying to Coach LSU Football. Consider his wife and her insisting to be "in the limelight" after every game while judging, speculating his other affairs.
"They" were very obviously (understandably) having marriage problems during that 2019 Championship season; for I don't know exactly when, but I think she wanted her money (divorce) pretty soon after that season. And if they were having marriage trouble......,that would make her little "tag along" appearances mid-field with her Winning Husband Coach EVEN MORE Odd, Weird, Bold, Narcissistic!

I'm way more upset with BK than Orgeron
One of them left the program better than he found it.
2 years removed from a national title with the best team of all time is in a better spot than BK has left LSU. You assclowns that live to shite on Ed O are so pathetic. It’s so obviously rooted in insecurity and jealousy

Ed O screwed this program
I remember at the time Miles was getting squeezed, some people were warning to be careful... you didn't want to be the next Tennessee or Nebraska.
LSU needed someone stable, with a plan, to keep the machine humming. Orgeron was neither. He was a recruiter. He has limited understandings of football conceptually, no vision besides "we coming". He was successful taking over a solid program and breathing a little excitement into it, but he couldn't maintain or build anything. That's why it all collapsed around him.
Kelly's heart wasn't into this, but he at least had us back to 9-10 wins a season... Orgeron wasn't ever getting back to that.
I'm a bit curious about the Heupel chatter. I hadn't considered him, but he came in and fixed a dumpster fire in Tennessee. LSU currently isn't that bad off, he'd probably have us in playoff contention in 2 seasons (if he could keep guys like Pickett, Berry, Woodland etc).
