If only he could have polished his coaching abilities.

Rumor: Tennesseans refer to gumbo filé as "sassafras powder." O left after 1 season.

Has the swamp water that you coonsasses drink ever been tested? Just from what I read on here I'm thinking there is something in it that destroys testicles because you guys sound like a bunch of women.

PMS too?

O had Tyrann and Big Anthony set to be at Tennessee. That’s wild to think.

Yes because we all thought we were going to the SECCG or the CFP this year

Well, let's be objective about this...

Orgeron took over in game 5 of last season, finished out the year, and was here in the offseason. He wasn't walking into a new situation.
Last season under O, we had 2 losses- to Florida, who we outplayed and should have won comfortably if the play was less sloppy; and to Alabama, who we played well against on defense, but needed better offense.
We returned the DC that ran our defense, had plenty of returning talent, and a big upgrade at OC coming in.

We returned 2 1st team preseason All Americans (Guice and Key), our QB, the most effective WR (Chark) from last year's team, and a ton of secondary talent.

All schedules feature trap games (I was afraid of @ Tennessee, frankly, as well as @ Florida), but objectively, having Auburn here, I thought we SHOULD win every game but Alabama, and thought we should have a decent shot at them. Historically, we've done better at Bama then we do at home against them.

Our team was poised to make a run this year, and a lot depended on the coaching staff. If we had an 11-1 season, I'd be completely confident that O is now the correct man for the job, and hope he could keep things rolling... my biggest fear about him is that he has never maintained a program, and I don't know if he could make the tweaks necessary to do so.
As it turned out, our schedule ended up being easier than it seemed in the offseason, and the team still fell short. We cratered in 2 completely inexcusable games that destroyed any chance of being elite, and struggled against some some other teams we should have rolled (Syracuse comes to mind). It wasn't until the Auburn game that the team nutted up and played with intensity and heart.

The X's and O's are there for this team to win, and currently the talent is (and I hope it remains, that was supposed to be Orgeron's strong suit). This coaching change was not a rebuild, it was to bring new excitement into a strong program, before it dropped off. Orgeron was supposed to be the spark that was missing. It now scares me that the biggest blemishes (those lackadaisical losses and the weaker recruiting class) are signs that the very reason we chose O, are the things he can't deliver.

he saved that gem for the only school that would hire him as head coach. It’s hilarious how people eat that shite up and actually believe it lol
