LSU 7-6. As sideline reporter this was one of Chris Fowler's assignments with ESPN.

Had seats in the SOUTH end zone. Probably couldn't have been further from Fuller's catch. But I could hear it!

Wife and I were there in the student section, but not husband and wife at the time. Hodson to Fuller.

I was in the box (field level) seats in the south end zone. Couldn't see anything except everyone else going crazy.

What a game!!! Auburn finished the year 10-1 and ranked #4 before falling to FSU in the Sugar.

LSU won the SEC (6-1) but ended up in the Hall Of Fame Bowl rather than the Sugar, thanks to their ugly meltdown v Miami

One of the most boring football games ever played in Baton Rouge…until Hodson-to-Fuller.

The Most Exciting Part Of The Game. Hodson-to-Fuller!

Too bad LSU got hosed out of a Sugar Bowl berth; they should've been invited, but Auburn was higher ranked than LSU regardless of the fact that LSU was the true 1988 SEC Champion. The Tigers ended up going to the Hall of Fame Bowl and lost to Syracuse in a quite uninspiring performance. Then, the Dark Ages of LSU football were upon us until Gerry D brought Back the Magic in 1995.

North end zone. LSU ran the same play twice. Fuller out of bounds first one. The BOOM!. I stopped cheering and looked around the stadium. Unreal how people were jumping around. Never forget it.

It definitely registered about a nine on the snooze scale.

I was in the student section & don’t remember much of this 5 years in Tiger Stadium. But I do remember that we ran the same play on 1st or 2nd down & Fuller caught the ball but landed out of the back of the endzone.

Watched a replay a few years ago. One of the craziest things about this game was that both quarterbacks caught a pass that was deflected back to them.

Ole Miss beat Bama in Tuscaloosa on Bear Bryant day right before the game. I was there, and watched the game with a bunch of bama fans. They didn’t care as much about their loss as long as Auburn loss too. It was weird.

I was in student section. Freshman year. Sat on about the 8th row in the corner. Being that low, we didn't see much clearly, but Hodson to Fuller was crystal clear. I remember the jubilation. Liquor bottles and drinks raining from everywhere. One of my favorite college memories.

I attended that game and was seated in the north endzone, loudest roar ever from an LSU crowd.
