Like I said before, it's not always Kiffin responsible.
But it's undeniable he has had some weird relocations.
I think every coach does, at times. People were pissed everywhere that BK left (until LSU), if we're being honest.
People at Duke were pissed that Elko left for the A&M job, it just isn't publicized as much.
Oregon fans were pissed when Cristobal left for Miami.
I think Kiffin just gets a bad rap because he got jobs so young and was obviously immature. He was like 31 when he was hired in Oakland, for a comparison, Joe Burrow is 29 right now. And he was obviously super immature (still is), that combination plus Al Davis was never going to end well, then the Tennessee thing just added fuel to the fire.
The age thing is crazy if you look at it in perspective, we think of Blake Baker as a "young up and comer" but Kiffin had already been at FAU a year or two by the time he was Baker's age.

I will say it's funny that you are projecting misery on message posters when your response to someone saying "I just want you to be happy" is...
No.

No.

I think that's fair and part of it stems from the fact that his head coaching career started in the weirdest way by a weird arse guy (Al Davis).
And Kiffin is good at marketing that weirdness because it's a viable recruiting tool for the Gen Z talent pool. It's why he is incredibly online.

Another factor is the programs he's been involved in, he was at USC when they were at the peak, so he already had a name, then was the youngest NFL head coach with the Al Davis Raiders.
Then Tennessee, back to USC, Alabama, all big-name programs on a national level. The Ole Miss thing only became so big because they were in playoff contention, if they'd been 9-3 there would've been no circus and the narrative would be Kiffin back on the national change again.

Saban and Kiffin were basically the same age when they got to LSU

But that's a big part of the narrative, right?
I mean, it was no secret that Kiffin was trying to leave Oxford for a while and would've been at Auburn two years ago if not for his daughter not wanting to change high schools before her senior year.
The football calendar being what it is played a huge part in the timing of everything, but a lot of people on the outside found it hard to rationalize a guy, who has been viewed as the "brash, innovative" coach that never won the big one, not finishing out his most successful season to date and leaving a team that had a legit shot to play for a title. And I can see why the non-LSU people feel that way.
Regardless of what the Sun God's of the world say, I'm ecstatic that Kiffin came to LSU and even looking at it from an objective perspective, it's a smart gamble to take considering the resources he now has at his disposal in Baton Rouge.
But it was still a weird departure that left him open for criticism. All I've been saying.

I would say those people just aren't looking at things logically.
1. You have to take these opportunities when they present, you don't get second chances often.
2. Ole Miss was never a legitimate title contender; their defense wasn't good enough. If Miami had just lined up and ran the ball at them, they would've destroyed Ole Miss. And Indiana had their way with Miami.

They were literally seconds away from playing for the title with an oaf stand-in as their head coach. Not saying they would've beat Indiana, but c'mon dude...

Love that they added in the lsu part and added the comment along the lines of not knowing if he actually changed since he is moving again
I am baffled as to why he takes heat for moving from job to job literally ever coach does this.

I mean TCU "played" for a title a few years ago too, doesn't mean they were a legitimate contender.
Ole Miss was only in the game due to Miami mistakes. Miami would've destroyed them if they'd have just run the ball every play. Did you watch that game? Ole Miss literally could not stop Miami on the ground.
The Canes killed themselves with penalties and turnovers.
They had the ball for 41 minutes and averaged over 5 yards rushing per attempt, if you remove Beck.

Yep, looks like YouTube TV recorded it for me so I'll finally give it a watch this week.

Ole Miss didn’t lose by 60.
They were a title contender, unless you believe the only true title contender in hindsight is who ended up winning the title

For anyone interested, Youtube tv says it’s supposed to air again this Sunday (Feb 8th) at 8pm on ESPN2.

Raiders: Open media war with Al Davis before firing
I don’t place a lot of blame on Kiffin for the Raiders. They churned through coaches after Gruden and in his own words he wanted Megatron and got the QB that was the impetus for rookie contracts from that point forward. No one could have been successful with Russell and the headspace he was in after getting drafted.

Finally got to watch it. Good show. And the LSU updates were hilarious.
Rece bitchface Davis crying at the end "he abandoned a playoff team" was good television. I guess they cut off the scene before he laid into Jon Sumrall and Bob Chesney, right?
Man, Al Davis passed down his crazy gene to his son.
