I predict a 39th year of eligibility for Cade Beloso who will develop a mean slider and become our Sunday starter in '24 and will ascend to the top of the draft next year while compiling the greatest statistical season in LSU history

More W's than Nola
More saves than Matty Ott
More DONGS than Larson
More doubles than Barbier
More triples than Jared Mitchell

Said as only an LSU fan could. LSU has the undisputed #1 team in the country but hey, let’s cry about next year. Damn…

True but we own the transfer portal and the HS studs have more incentive than ever to make it to campus

Also.. someone fact check Jones.. i wasnt aware Bear would be a DES

Yeah, that is an exciting element of the portal.

Many of these kids were held back in lower grades for the specific purpose of allowing them to mature athletically (which I have always found unsavory, but here we are). They’re playing as 19 year old freshmen.

I already knew this when he signed but he said it himself on Mahtooks show earlier in the season.

And It’s far from a guarantee he or Kling leave after next year, guys come back all the time if they feel their projection is lower/other reasons.

While of course it isn’t a guarantee a huge part of the reason you were able to get Jones and Kling on campus is because of their draft eligible sophomore status so the betting odds are them leaving after next season.

How do you know they didn't get held back in Pre-k or K because of some non-athletic reason?

Also there are some studies from well-renowned social scientists that say every male should be held back to close the gap with females that exist now as far as academics go

Dylan is a generational talent. A professional in every sense of the word.

Not necessarily. It’s an added incentive to them sure but they still have leverage after their junior year.

Just depends on how they do their sophomore years obviously. I don’t think it’s nearly the sure thing that some assume it might be.

Having said that, Jones will only continue to improve and already looks like Mark McGuire so I don’t expect him to stay in college 3 years.

Kling is very happy at LSU had no interest in bypassing this opportunity so I could see him staying 3 years if for some reason he’s not a first round pick after his sophomore year

A lot of benefit for some kids academically and for social development as well. One of my kiddos was a late bloomer all-around in preschool so we took an extra year of preschool and now he’s older and he’s thriving. Nothing remotely athletic went into the decision.

I believe the book Outliers details this well, and not just for academic or athletic reasons.
