i think this is the issue

now i wouldnt be surprised if miles starts rotating collins and josh during practice to get him more reps at LT to see how he handles it

we could see some packages against idaho and towson where josh is playing LG and collins is at LT

no time like the present, and that way he would be eased into it over the next 2 games...then a little step up for auburn....obviously coaches know better (not talking about jj/jl..lol) but seems to me long-term this is best.....and if collins is beast they say he is....

I'm pretty sure they tried this experiment in practice and it never worked...

That's why he was always a undersized G. He had a T body but he wasn't quick enough to play T. Now I'm really worried...

Agreed, but I am hoping the coaches are using more accurate and thorough evaluations to make these decisions. In other words, they have different info than I am seeing in gameplay.

Has he played at LT before?

See first play in Shep's '09 highlights.

RS10 '09 Highlights

Glad to hear Josh will be filling in for Faulk. He will be an outstanding LT.

He is the starter at guard. Displaced upper classmen.

You are correct first and second scrimmage JD played LT with ones and struggled mightly against Rasco and comp. He will be tested in conference play for sure.

Surprised Collins didn't get the LT spot and Josh D.move back to guard.

I think there's a good chance this happens anyway in the coming weeks.

Dworaczyk has/had taken snaps at LT before, Collins has not. Probably why Dworaczyk is starting this week (it doesn't matter this week or next really, we don't play a team with a good pass rush until Auburn).

I would like to see a competition for the spot on Monday in practice and the winner go through all week at LT then play vs. Idaho. I think Collins would the job if given the opportunity, then move Josh D into LG.

Evan Washington is on the scout team.

Alexander they would only play at RT, not LT. Alexander is too young to handle Lt responsibilities.

Based on what I've seen at practices and scrimmages Collins IMO has grown into a guard. His feet are not good enough to play tackle at this level

when josh was a freshman, i talked to miles about him and he said he was the most promising young o lineman on the team and had a tackle's body

Have to take it in context, not like Chris Faulk, La'el, or Vadal were in that class and there was a lot of attrition on the OL. I am pulling for JD for his experience and shite ton of commitment/work put into the program and rehab. Then there is Vadal, and where ever he is on the learning curve. Hopefully no more injuries on the OL.

Wah. How is Washington on scout team? Is he that bad? I seem to remember the praise he was getting his freshman year...
