imo, we should play the best players and not play favorites. if la'el doesn't beat someone out, he should not play. he should work harder to be the best.

No way in hell that Dworaczyk comes off the bench. He was our best O lineman entering this past year

Well, that depends on his level of recovery. No, I don't have a link, but there have been some questioning how effective he will be following this injury. Some have said that there could be permanent damage.

I think he should have to compete and earn his spot like anyone else. If he's 100% and pancaking fools, then yeah- he starts. If he never fully recovers and gets outplayed by an unheralded sophomore, then he comes in off the bench.

did that have anything to do with the passing threat of LSUs QB, or lack thereof?

I'm very glad to see him get another chance. Having the veteran leadership of a 29 year old guy in there will help the line out for sure. Please quit crying LaEl's tears for him guys. Even if he is the 6th man in the rotation, he'd get a lot of time on the field. People get hurt, tired, banged up, suspended, injured, academically rendered ineligible, and investigated by the NCAA. I want to see that big mofo tear stuff up too, but he's got to earn it, and I think he will, but let's not look past some of the guys who played solidly this past year, minus the first halves of the last three games I mean to say.

Does this mean JD will be classified as a junior officially where football is concerned for next year? Will JJ be returning too as well?

If Collins is performing well he will see plenty of playing time and won't have any reason to be pissed. The coaches wisely use depth to their advantage and if he can do the job well he'll get PT.If he sits it will be b/c others are better.

Meh, criticism is fine. It is assinine however to say that Collins or some other OL should get a spot when there is no evidence that he is ready to be effective at the SECOND level. If anything, his complaints during the offseason are proof that he is not likely ready to step in mentally.

Fair enough.

My interest in seeing Collins get time is derived from the fact of two previous big time injuries to Dworaczyk. I have my doubts that such a person lasts thru the mighty bowl game LSU will have earned, Sugar or Orange, it will be big time. So I would like to see younger players get some time. If they cant hack it against the #1's of Bama, we will likely get a feel for it against Washington, which has had two good years of recruiting.
I would never suggest that Collins is ready. What I do feel is that Dworaczyk knows the drill. He does not need a zillion more hours of practice. So let the younger guy get the time with the 1's and see how he does. Dworaczyk can come in and save the day if need be. But I would attempt to minimize Dworaczyk's snaps until "need be".
