All these guys are being recruited now and they are chasing the money. Stick a fork in it. College sports has ended. Why even pretend that education matters. Greed has ruined sports as we know it. Georgia bought that championship and everyone watched as player after player would suddenly leave their home schools to go to Georgia. Kirby and Jimbo learned from Saban. I don't care anymore. These kids will go to the highest bidder. Everyone is suddenly a free agent. Loyalty and commitment is dead. What is going to happen to all these kids when they have all that money and no education?

no it isnt. our student handbook says that you will be suspended from athletic comp for testing positive.

you dont know what you are talking about and the exact pages and policy has been posted many times.

I’ve read the LSU policy and I’ve read a few other SEC schools’ policies. The policies are all pretty similar as far as required suspensions. Maybe the exact number of games per failed test varies a bit between schools, but not as much as you would think. All of the policies I’ve read have a required percentage of games suspended for a first, second, third, etc. failed test.

The difference (allegedly) is in the testing frequency, the number of tests administered, and the exact selection process. These things aren’t really spelled out in the policies. I don’t know if those differences are real or not, but it definitely seems like there has to be something going on.

All of that said, I haven’t even made it through the whole thread and I’ve read that McGlothern:
1. Was suspended and/or run off for violating team rules (being late).
2. Was suspended for failing drug tests.
3. Was academically ineligible.

I seriously doubt that all three of these things are true. Any of these would explain his absence from the bowl game. At least some of the folks claiming to know what’s going on are full of shite (shocker).

The alignment is just too powerful for him.

Is he entering because he really wants to leave or does his attitude not fit the culture change BK is instituting?

Are the issues that kept him out of the ho game the cause of him entering the portal?

Smells like he’s been processed for alignment reasons.

Yep in the early stages you absolutely cannot put up with any BS or anyone not adhering to the program. That is the only way to build a culture. Then when the wins come people buy in even more and you can recruit the 5* with a big ego because the moment he walks in the building his attitude will change. Don't get me wrong you still need 5*'s in the short run, but you cannot have any so-so character and discipline guys.

Remember, Saban did the same when he got to Bama. That’s how you build a winning culture.

He may have class work to get in order, but being in the portal allows him to contact other teams and vice versa.

To add to this:

IF he is academically ineligible (which may or may not be true based on the numerous explanations for his transfer thrown out in this thread) he can still regain his eligibility and transfer after the spring semester. As I understand it, he just has to be in the portal by May 1 to be eligible in the fall - which he is. There’s nothing stopping him from completing his spring classes at LSU. I’m pretty sure his financial aid is guaranteed for the entire academic year as well, but I might be mistaken on that.

He was one of the best players on our team with a winner mindset, really tough loss here.

The best players with winning mindsets do their jobs off the field so they are eligible to play.
Dwight didn’t do that.

Sure it sucks to lose him, but this is how it has to be.

He was not eligible for Bowl game… either drug test or academics…. Probably did not have a super fantastic player interview the BK. None of the guys that were not eligible for the bowlgame are going to have good interviews with BK.

At the end of,the day BK probably told hm to transfer just like Palmer.

When the kid was ineligible for bowl game. It was a flashing redlight

Not really. Free agency actually makes sense and has structure.

So you really believe Orgeron brought in a lot of talented, bad character, low morals type of players?

Some...Yes. But you think that's the majority of players that either transferred or declared for the league earlier than they should've?

IMHO, it's not just NIL. Whatever CBK has been saying/doing has a lot of kids not buying into his approach. Some players have left for more playing time but some guys were starters or received a lot of time on the field. Could be nothing, just seems like there's more going on behind the scenes.

I see lots of articles of players entering the portal, yet the better players are always going to various other schools, not many of the "better" players transferring IN TO LSU.

I know LSU fans have always bragged about LSU recruiting itself, if true, it's no longer the case.
