Maybe not the top end speed durham has. But he's moving on this td

Yeah, he’s moving slowly. The DB catches him at the five in spite of having to fend off a blocker. That clip is a perfect example of why Vincent was overrated. He does absolutely nothing on that play that distinguishes him, and yet it’s a highlight. The entire play was made by the nine Tigers who blocked it. Vincent shows no vision, speed, moves or power. That’s not to say he was bad; it’s just that the play was there for any of the 120 starting RBs at the D1 programs.

Vincent was a good back. He would have been in any of Les Miles’ RB rotations, but he would have been the lead back in none of them.

I was young but I never understood what made Vincent so effective his freshman year. Not crazy fast or elusive, but certainly wasn’t a power back from what I remember. He was just hard to tackle.

He also had one of the best offensive lines in LSU history opening huge running lanes.

Vincent had decent vision but the 2003 offensive line was way better at making holes to run through than the next couple of years, including this year’s offensive line. Many were saying, “What happened to Vincent? Why does he not look as good as he did as a freshman?”

It’s balance. He doesn’t fall because he’s bumped or pushed. He has to be fully wrapped up to go down.

That’s also what make that Williams kid at Bama so special. When he goes up to catch a ball, he comes down and keeps stride while many other receivers just fall
