The Swedish women were enough to convince him I’m sure.

There's a really good pole vaulting thread on the OT. I'd highly recommend giving it a gander.

No. I’ve followed T&F for longer than you were in Nutville. I’m not saying anything. All I’m saying if you start looking at the % improvement in certain sports has seen a 20% increase minimum. Except baseball in throwing a FB. When you start looking at equipment such as surfaces and time, you see the improvement over time except how fast someone can throw a ball. 60’6” and mound height is why

Yawn. The guy is capable of jumping two inches higher. As I told this board a year ago, he will break his own world record by small amounts, 20 times in the next few years. The reason he doesn’t shatter the record is because he gets a bonus for each world record.

The reason I know this is because the first time he broke the world record, my friend who vaulted with Mondo’s father, told me that by looking at his vault you could see that he had several more inches in him.

Because dumb people comment on stuff they have no clue about. I loved watching Mondo and Greg when both were in college. Vaulting as high as they both have is tremendous. But people on here think that kids today are so much better when it comes to literally inches of height. Bupka vaulted 20’1 3/4” outdoors and 20’2” outdoors in the late 80’s early 90’s. Today Mondo broke the WR again outdoors at 20’2 1/2”. That’s <1” in all those years of advancement in rich olive, - poles, track surface, etc.

Again, I’m not saying Mondo isn’t great or the WR holder. What I’m saying is, people on here think that athletes ar the highest level are superior
