TM7 is pound for pound the greatest(most impactful player) in LSU history ... the only other argument that could be made is Billy Cannon. You can’t catergorize him as just a safety the same way you couldn’t just catergorize LT as a linebacker.

I’m guessing the downvotes are from the Chip Kelly fans!

It’s pretty funny how worked up you are over this

We sure do have the dumbest fans.
Or lowest reading comprehension as a group

TM7 was a game changer in ways I've never seen another safety be capable of.

Ehh. I think him and Jamal are about even but excel in different areas.
Jamal’s open field tackling to me is unmatched. He could diagnose plays extremely fast, was excellent and setting the edge and was making tons of plays in the flats at or behind the LOS.
I see Delpit as a little more well rounded in coverage and more rangey than Jamal. Probably less likely to give up a big play overtop but can also make plays at the LOS. I don’t think he has a knack for tackles for loss like Jamal did though.
As for Eric Reid, Chad Jones and Laron Landry I think these guys were more of the enforcer types that had a lot of presence. Not as good at purely playing safety as Jamal or Delpit but scared the living shite out of offenses and any receiver that was asked to cross the middle.
Mathieu is apples to oranges because he played nickel/corner in our defense.

Tm7 was a corner at LSU that blitz. He was not a safety at LSU. He played safety for the cardinals
Yeah. It seemed like he was a safety because he was always roaming all over and making plays all over the field, but it's easy to forget that he was a CB.
Delpit said his dad wants him to return punts like TM. Man, I wish he would.

All it will take is for Delpit to give up 2 big plays to Bama and the rant will turn on him and call him overrated.

Link? Most of the ranters I saw agreed he will likely go down as the best ever.

Are you counting Mathieu as a Safety?
Why would anyone count him as a safety? He didn't play safety at LSU

Yeah especially since he wasn't a safety for LSU

He played corner at LSU

Mathieu played safety for one game at LSU. He was a cornerback/nickel back the other times he took the field. I wouldn’t put him in the safety debate.

Dude you got Chad Jones eight. Wow, switch him and Adams around and the list would be somewhat legit. Adams was more hype than anything. He was a good player, but I wouldn’t call him special. Chad Jones made a lot of plays during his time. It’s no way he’s lower than 4.
