Call it bad timing or blame Ed O, but this one isn’t on BK.

It must be nice, even with the Portal, and NIL, he can still blame the previous staff from two years ago.
When is it BKs fault?
Almost all the stars on offense were previous staffs recruits.

Answer honestly- was last year’s secondary class in the portal a bust? Is a player getting fricking brain cancer and not being diagnosed until after the season has started the staff’s fault? Is two guys getting knocked out for the season?

My point isn’t to cover for mistakes, and there have been some. But that said, ALL of what has happened has been a reaction to the staff having basically no CBs (except one who would rather bail for a lesser team than face a suspension) when they came in. That is 100% on O and Raymond. Yeah, it sucks that Kelly and the staff missed on a couple of recruits last year. It’s also unfortunate that Gardner was good enough to go pro after one season, rather than staying for one more. Losing both him and Brooks (later on) really hurt.

It’s up to Kelly and the staff to fix it going forward, and he’s said himself that has to be done in recruiting. But anyone acting like he and the staff took an ideal situation and fricked it up is insane. The secondary last year could easily have been worse than this year’s but wasn’t because the staff hit all of the portal pickups. Obviously they didn’t this time around, but there also weren’t a lot of better portal options out there outside of the other guy from Syracuse and Cyprus from UVA. That’s why we have to get away from dependence on the portal for DT and CB. You can’t rely on what will be available there from one year to the next. Let’s at least see how they can close out this class.

Now if you want to complain about Kelly and/or House’s choices for defensive coaching, there is plenty of room for that based on what we have seen this season. They haven’t helped with the difficult situation.

Didn't he fail on recruiting/signing the best DB recruit in Louisiana, the last two years.
Has he and his staff developed one db recruit?

Because he brought that kid in under strict stipulations. Do these things or don’t play. Don’t do these or don’t play.

Notice he isn’t playing. BK isn’t relenting on his culture building for better or worse.

They had no chance to flip someone who was already gone coming in just before the ESD that first signing day. They were lucky to hold onto who they did. Talking shite about that is pretty ridiculous.

If you want to complain about the loss this year go ahead, but it sounds like he and his family have no interest in LSU. Remember Van Pran? Sometimes in-state kids don’t want to come here, whatever their reasons are. Considering how well they have done across the rest of the state, I’m not going to throw stones over one guy, especially if they hold onto Bates, who adequately offsets that loss. But they need to keep him.

Development is a big question mark. I think we’ve seen Alexander get a little better through the season. Welch may just not be an SEC corner, but it could also be coaching not helping him. Harris can’t keep his head on straight. Stamps will likely play coming out of the bye week, so that should tell us something. That said, I wouldn’t be upset at all if at least Cooks is replaced this offseason and maybe Steeples as well. We can definitely improve one of those spots. But I also said this already in my response to you.

Your simple responses continue to gloss over just how bad things were when the staff got here.

They are really about to frick over this entire team even more than they already have this season with their bad play. Hopefully there are some guys on the team that are willing to tell them this, not just the coaches.

They SHOULD have Ryan Clark in their ear.

He’s well aware of the negatives about lsu on sports radio.

He should being the mentor he says he is on the radio to this position group.

Holy shite dude, will you quit talking about Ryan Clark. It’s not his job to make sure players are available to play.

I basically said that so you have a tiny melt.

But the truth is, it’s not his job to be vocal about his doubts on Brian Kelly.

Why not do something positive, publicly?

You can’t dis that idea, can you?

If we lose and BK doesn’t play either, I’ll lose a ton of respect and confidence in him

Is that a fair expectation without knowing specifics surrounding their “inactive” status??

Considering Duce Chestnut is reportedly not even practicing with the team, I’m not sure what you expect on that front.

You’ve also already acknowledged that you have no idea what is actually going on with either of them.

Because it’s irrelevant. We need them to beat Bama and that trumps everything

He doesn’t care about details like that. He’s a fricking troll who slings shite whenever possible and disappears when it isn’t.

This kind of bullshite right here is a big part of the reason why the program went to hell under O.

Case in point since you bring up Bama- Saban was looking for a 2nd decent CB all of last year while he left Ricks suspended for most of it and only playing part time the rest of it. Discipline and following through on what you say you demand from players is a foundational building block for a program. What you are talking about is the kind of results-only mindset that can take you from a great team one year to .500 the next two with the wheels off.

They need to go now. Just play freshmen Dbs and hope to outscore the next 4 opponents.
