I think he will get drafted early if he goes, but I don't see why. I really like the guy, but I just don't see what the pros do.... *goes back to non-football related day job*

He's too light for NFL anything. NFL LB's are bigger than Mingo. I think he has POTENTIAL like evryone but the god's honest truth is he needs 35-40 lbs to do anything whether it be a true DE or 3-4 defense project.

he will be a first-round pick if he enters the draft as a non-senior.

This is the important part.

No way he runs a 4.4.

You have to be kidding right. It's very possible that he breaks 4.5. He is only 235

Spot on analysis.

While Mingo's physical ability is unquestioned. His production this year has not been that great. But I think that most of his growth will be in learning technique, which the NFL can teach.

Definitely needs to go pro. There is no benefit in coming back to college and playing DE in a 4-3. He will make an impact in the league in a 34.

He could stick around and talk to Rivers to get some points on gaining weight.

I read this summer that Rivers gained 40lbs since coming to LSU. Mingo needs to gain weight to not only compete, but stay healthy in the NFL.

he is in the wrong system at LSU. he needs to be playing LB in the NFL where he can move around and attack from different angles. he will never compete going up against NFL tackles every play.

You remember what Mingo looked like at WM? He's gained like 50 lbs at LSU.

this is no surprise to me....been saying this for two years now. Mingo and Sam, as talented as they are both benefited immensely by the presence of Brockers in the middle last season. it was no surprise to me that their sack/hurry production fell off once he was gone. Mingo has the frame but he has not put on the kind of mass that it will take to excell at the next level....IMO, any team that needs three yds will run right at him. at DE, he is a project at best but I do believe that he could fit into a 3-4 LB position. that said, I love the kid and what he brings to the table...just hope he gets with the right team and finds his niche.

geaux Kekee/Sam.

D.J. Fluker of Alabama

Fluker did an excellent job of pulling Mingo's shoulder pads over his head. How can you get past a guy that uses that technique?

What I am curious about is if his neck injury held him back any.

Well according to the posts here, I'd love to have him back as a LB next year, since that's what he's going to be...

On the flip side, NFL prospects D.J. Fluker of Alabama and Jake Matthews of Texas A&M both got the better of Mingo

Part of that was gameplan against aTm. The DEs didn't rush at all b/c they played contain on Manziel. It's pretty obvious when you see the DEs stay even with the DTs even when not blocked.

I would agree, with most of this though. He is an outstanding talent and has a lot of speed, but he didn't give us the Clowney-type impaact that I think many were expecting. He's still badass though.

I think Mingo and Ogletree at UGA are very similar.

I wish we used him more in that capacity sometimes.

He will almost assuredly be an outisde LB in a 3-4.
