That's my reaction as well, but I can certainly understand that others have no desire to spend 3 hrs or a good part of 3 hrs standing. There is a reason they have seats for us in Tiger Stadium.
To think that those in front of you should never stand is silly, but to think that those behind you should have to stand 1/2 the game cause I am is equally silly. imo
When we go to a football game with 93,000 others, we have to be willing to kinda go with the flow or perhaps we should say home where we are the masters of our own fates.

If you really want to piss me off, decide to go to the bathroom and walk in front of me during a play.
It is football. There is plenty of time between plays for you to walk in front of everyone in your row.

Tiger Stadium is losing it. I hate to say it but it's true.
So Tiger Stadium is lossing it because people sit down..
I hate to say I was in the south end zone before you were born. People sat for the majority of the game, even more so than today.. so how exactly is Tiger Stadium losing it again ?

My tickets are on the 30 yard line, 5 rows up. I stand up pretty much the entire game. Every now and then someone will yell at me to sit down, you just have to ignore them. When there is a big play, Im gonna stand up and yell. Thats how it is.

Did you see the empty seats when the Tigers were losing. Used to be tons of em.
Folks act like a full, loud stadium makes the Tigers win. Fact is usually the Tigers winning is what makes a full, loud stadium.
People really overplay their roles as fans. That said, enjoy your time, stand if you want, yell for the team, but please be respectful of the fellow fans around you.
Cue the "Ill do what I want, talk how I want, cuss all I want, spill my bourbon anywhere I want, its my GD ticket, the high rollers have ruined Tiger Stadium" crowd.

Just stay home tough guy. Tiger Stadium isn't a church.
On super bowl sunday night I stand and yell as loud as I can in church (can only do it for a few seconds for obvious reasons) so that I show Yahweh he is as deserving of praise as the two football teams.

My take on it is normally the ppl that like to stand are the younger generation who had been in the student section where we stand the whole game for the most part, participate in the in-game rituals, and yell as loud as we can.
Now that I have graduated I can tell you it is a completely different atmosphere not being in the student section and I almost feel out of place.
I normally find myself in the section that I am sitting in being one of the few ppl standing and yelling...
JMO...either way I do not really care as long as I am in the stadium, I would prefer to be in the student section though...

Their favorite motto is "I got the right to.....". As a matter of fact, I think you'll find that exact quote in this thread.

I feel the same way. But like others have said, every section is different. I've been on the 50 surrounded by loud, standing geriatrics and I've been "shushed" in mediocre seats in the corners. Amazingly, the suite where I sit on very lucky occasions is the only place that rivals the student section for loudness. I'm sure the people next door don't like it, but what can ya do?
Also - the only time I've ever been handcuffed is when I was escorted out of the Independence Bowl... for standing while cheering for Colorado against Alabama.

People are retarded... thats what happened. Was this in the student section?

I have no problems with standing in your seat and yelling in key situations. I have no problem with jumping up in reaction to exciting plays. I do both of these things way more than I probably should.
What does bug me is when someone goes to the bathroom or concession stand during the game and blocks my view. Our seats are such that people will stop in the landing in front of us to see a play before heading up to their seat or down to the concession area. Of course, they stop right when the play starts and leave right when it ends, thereby causing me to miss the entire play.
My only solution is be a dick to the people behind me and stand the entire game or yell at these people. If they just kept it moving or went down two steps it wouldn't block our view, and they wouldn't get peanuts thrown at them.
This also applies for the pre-game and half time band performances, but not the other presentation-type crap. It does not apply when there is a game stoppage (However, if you're still there texting or something and the game is about to resume, I'll probably doubt you'll move in time, which you won't, and I'll start yelling at you).

Damn Bandwagoners, I was escorted out by 2 state troopers and 2 parish cops at the VA. tech game in 07 for refusing to sit. I asked the state trooper, when can i stand so i wont get in trouble? he replies "u can stand during a big play" I then asked his what constitutes a big play? There are all big in my eyes.

I was told to sit during Florida's first offensive play... The guy tapped me on the shoulder and said that he'd paid good money for his ticket and wanted to see the game. I told him he got ripped off and 93,000 people got in for free. I then stood for most of the game because he sucked. This was in the upper deck. I'll never sit there again. They all suck.
