Nope. Bad turf, natural or artificial, cause injuries.

Common sense goes a long way.

I'll apologize for being a dumbass if I'm wrong.

Man I was afraid he had broken his neck for a second there - looked like his head rolled up under his chest. Hope the young man is OK.

It's called a scorpion. Happens alot. Looked like a dislocated shoulder, different than a separated shoulder. Let's hope for the best.

I will say dislocated is better than separated but he is still gonna be in a world of pain. My experiences with both shoulders ( I'm old, many injuries and complete shoulder replacements) tell my Cade will hate life for a week or two. But, he's young and can heal up quicker. Fingers crossed, he can be back for a regional if it's not too serious and cuff is ok.

That turf is ridiculous when there are 35+ ft choppers in the infield. Frick that field

Preface this by saying I am an athletic trainer. When a joint dislocates, some stabilizer soft tissue is sheared in some fashion. As long as the labrum and rotator cuff tendons are in tact, he can play as tolerated with a neoprene brace. Just pain tolerance based. MRI tomorrow will tell the tale

Different experience entirely for me but I was 16-17 years old when I dislocated mine. Hurt when I dislocated it. Hurt like a sumbitch when it was put back. Then followed by two or three days of soreness. Nothing terrible.

If this was his first dislocation he will be sore AF for a few days. I’ve dislocated mine probably 4 times now. First time is a bitch. Every time after that you can pop it back in and keep rolling. But he will have constant PT and recovery treatment. My guess is he doesn’t play in Hoover and is back in a couple weeks, IF nothing is torn

This team can’t get everyone healthy at the same time. They could win a national championship at 100%

I had jumped in the shower and the wife told me he got hurt.
Anybody have a video? How’d the turf play a role..?

Exactly! You’d figure those smart Vandy students would know how bad artificial turf really is, both for athletes and environment. Stupid.

Went diving for a ground ball, and his body didn't quite slide on the turf. His momentum kept moving forward while his shoulder/upper body got caught in the turf. He ended up in a weird scorpion like position with his legs over his upper body/shoulders.
