couldn't agree w/ u more... i've always been a fan of coach miles & have alot of respect for him!

So you're expecting Miles to be 11-1 or undefeated every year? You're expecting LSU to be in the NC every year?
If Miles were to be fired with the record he has, LSU would be the laughing stock of college football.

How many coaches have ever achieved this in college football?
Fire coaches who are 9-3 or 10-2.

that's fine and all, but do you really think Miles put our team in the best position to win that game?
I dont
What should he have done differently ?

Nebraska would like a word with you about that one.

DiNardo's 10-2 season was very meh.
Are the Sabanistas trying to compare Miles to DiNardo ? Good grief they are retarded. Just pull for Bama if you love Saban so much.

And when you and your ilk say you "strive for excellence" what exactly do you mean? Do you get up at 5 am and run sprints with the team? How exactly are you striving for this excellence you speak of? By coming on a fricking message board after a close loss on the road to a really good team and getting your pussy blood all over the place? I'd imagine anybody who's ever actually achieved excellence would laugh at the route you've decided to take here. Yet you've somehow managed to convince yourself that not only does your wanting excellence matter(when clearly, it does not), but that all your bitching is beneficial. Like Jefferson is going to watch more film tomorrow, or Les is going to set his alarm an hour earlier because crawfish fricking charlie wants excellence. Get real.

I agree with you completley.
LSU is the 3rd best team in the SEC this year behind 2 great teams and max and his fellow losers want Les Miles fired.
Les has this team set up for sucess for many years. If people dont like that they need to find another team to be a fan of.
Maximus is one of those pussies that never played the game and loves tearing down others to make himself feel better.Wonder how Bama would have done if they lost McElroy,Ingram, and their best def player was cramping up?

Get used to it.
Would you be happy with a 10-2 season where we lost to an OOC school and maybe lost another SEC game (that we should win like Arky but does not keep us from the SECCG)? You are a fool if you believe this will keep us out of the BCS talk, history shows us this has happened and will happen again.
Teams are going to lose some games, Fla and Bama will not ALWAYS be on top, and there are ebbs and flows in any CFB season. LSU can lose 2 games, still have a great season, still win an SECCG, and still possibly get into the NC game.

Saban didn't have his teams prepared to play in bowl games the last two seasons.
Considering that Bama went to 0 or mediocre bowls before Saban taking them to the f***ing sugar bowl in his 2nd year, i think he'll get a pass..

I can see both sides of this argument. I agree that 10-2 or 9-3 are good seasons and consistently being 10-2 would be a great coaching career.
I also do not want to always be delegated to the Capital One or Cotton bowl because we can’t beat Alabama. Florida and Alabama will have up and down years, but for the foreseeable future they will be VERY good footballs and difficult to beat. They are well coached teams.
With the amount of money we pay Miles and the quality recruiting classes he brings in, as fans we expect to win or play in the SEC title every couple of years. However misplaced that may be, that is the expectation of most fan, given our recent success. 10-2 with a loss to Bama is not going to get us into that game. I can’t speak for the OP, but I don’t feel we will beat Bama consistently any time soon.
I hope I am wrong, but I don’t think I am.

With a coach with a top tier salary, the idea should be to be in a championship game every season; not merely win more than we lose. Whether it be SEC or National we should be able to compete for this every year. We should not settle for second tier or mediocrity in playing or coaching.

Just out of curiosity, if Miles isn't "your boy", who is? Who exactly do you cheer for? Are you an LSU fan?

HotCarl wrote this and posted a link to Butch Davis's Record trying to show people that he isnt good based upon his record...
He is going into his 9th season in CFB. Here is his teams' records his 1st 8 seasons, and their corresponding final AP ranking.
8-3 20
9-3 14
5-6 UR
9-3 20
9-4 15
11-1 2
4-8 UR
8-4 UR
Try and guess who's record this is...
1995 6-5-1
1996 6-6
1997 7-5
1998 6-6
1999 9-2
2000 8-4
2001 10-3
2002 8-5
2003 13-1
2004 9-3
Now with that record who would have thought that he was going to turn out to be one of the top two coaches in america like YOU said he was...So, is that fair for you to say that about Butch Davis, even with what he did at Miami..and if your stupid, yes it is sabans record from Mich ST and LSU

Miles will have to beat Saban at least half the time to get people off his arse regardless of 10 and 2.
I was looking for an in to post these comments and this provides it.
As I stated in a post regarding the outcome of the game, I'm just an Old Fart haunted by the ghosts of the past in the LSU-Bama series. For years under Cholly Mac, no matter how good LSU was, Bama always managed to be just a little better or have the breaks go their way and pull off a win. It was one of those series where Bama was the dominant team, just as say LSU-Miss. St or LSU-Kentucky.
The other team might get a run, such as LSU has had against Bama recently or MSU and Kentucky had against LSU in the '70's. But eventually the series reverts back to the pattern of the one team being dominant over the other as before.
The OU-Nebrasaka series also comes to mind here. For years OU dominated and Neb. couldn't win for all the rice in China.
It is just one of those series where one team has the other teams number and I fear that we may have reached that point in the Bama series again with the Little Prick coaching them.
This is not a knock on Les, or even a prediction of LSU falling from competing for SEC and NC honors, just an observer of history looking through clear rather than p&g colored glasses.
Under Les I believe that LSU will continually recruit as well as Bama and field teams as competitive as Bama. But, as before, as long as we're on just an even keel with them, it may not be good enough to beat them. And the thought of that absolutely makes me sick!
