return to his very effective form

like when he drove the length of the field against aubie and then heaved an INT that was taken back to the 50?

He cant pass. its not about protection. he throws SHORT and he throws LONG.

if he can learn to pass, great, else I would prefer that someone else have a chance at the helm.

So far I am unimpressed. His running is good but not great.
His passing is below mediocre.

I really hope someone else beats him out this summer,
and I dont care if its Lee or Mett or a walk-on.

Nice try, UF's system was tailored to tebow's talents, mechanics didn't have to be flawless just good enuff.

If you tailored LSU's system to JJ's talent (aka singular skill), we'd roll out right 60 times a game.

Les miles wanted JJ to keep it simple last year and look shaky so he wouldn't show his hand for THIS season. If you look closely at the film with your hat riding high, you can see that when Les accidentally let the other teams come close to winning, he'd put JL in to show a little something and get us back in the lead. JJ is going to throw for like 20,000 yards this season, mark my words! If he doesn't, I'll eat my season ticket stubs.

It's JJ supporters that are the blind ones. I've never seen any starting QB, especially not a returning starter, look so completely lost. He's good in bowl games with a month to prepare, otherwise it will be another season of offense until we start someone else.

Look, no doubt JJ struggled some this season, but the guy accounted for 4 TDs and had a passing eff. of like 170 vs. A&M who was NR.

The 4 TDs was bettered once by an SEC QB all season.

What bout Bama...are the SEC caliber? His PE vs Bama was 200 and he blocked pretty good in that game as well.

JJ struggled at times as did the whole offense, but he seemed to steady himself in and after the Bama game...for the most part. imo

There are few that hate on JJ. Being realistic isn't hating. I hope like hell whoever is LSU's QB this year performs better than the past three seasons, and if that is JJ, good for him.

Look I like jj and really hope he learns to read a defense at some point, or how to look off a db but to this point he is a complete bust. I don't blame jj I blame the Louisiana education system. The reason Lsu historically has poor qb play is the kids just aren't very smart. You can het away with it at other positions but if you make poor decisions at qb you make huge mistakes. Now when these gius play well they get lavished with praise and cash so when they play poorly they deserve to hear about it as well. Give me a less athletic, SMART qb rather than a 6 6 strong armed poor decision maker. To quote the great Dave chapellle, it's hard being black and gifted.

If it was guaranteed that LSU could win with a mediocre quarterback, JJ would be at the top of my list. I've never really seen a whole lot of quit in him and it honestly seems like he tries hard. Bad news is that even with a great player and nearly every other position, a mediocre QB will get you 9-10 wins out of 12 games. That doesn't cut it anymore. If JJ has improved dramatically like news articles insist he has, then fantastic. Until then, I just has the last 3 years of mediocre at best QB play to just him on

this is the stupidest post ever. If he doesn't throw a TD or do anything to help the team then he isn't winning the game for us he is costing us the game and he puts the defense in a bind every game to pull it out. Stupid stupid statement. You must enjoy 30 yds passing against McNesse and 0 TD's

I have always liked JJ even through that period of football last season that made me want to scratch my eyes out. He is a gamer and the only games we have lost with him as our starting QB have all been in single digits. I can live with that. If he is as improved as everyone is making out to be based off the spring so far I like him even more.

How prophetic . . .

Nice of you to gratuitously throw in the "or do anything to help the team" to make it completely unrelated to his post. He specifically commented on not passing for TDs to make the point that there are OTHER THINGS a QB can do to help the team win. So far, your post is living up to your prediction.
quote:

then he isn't winning the game for us he is costing us the game
When he said, "if they win the game," then any time a QB costs us the game that isn't the QB he's talking about. Still going strong on the stupid . . .
quote:

Don't know him personally (as far as I know), but judging from his post I'd guess he just enjoys winning.

You gave it a strong effort, but this is the Rant so there is some real strong competition for "stupidest post ever." I'd say you came close, but not quite. I'm sure you'll keep up the effort, though.

The thing that scares the hell out of me is his inconsistancy. You never know what youre going to get. He has more playing time and starts under his belt than most QBs in NCAA, so excuses for him are running thin, esp when there are freshmen who are starting for other schiools and performing much better and much more consistantly.

Could it have been Crowton? possibly. We'll find out!
