So Les messed up this game.. I'll admit it was a huge mistake but I blame Crowton. Why take a chance of an interception or a sac when we are inside of field goal range? Miles said himself that they suggested running the ball then kicking the long field goal but Crowton said "the worst that would happen would be an incomplete pass."

Les won a NATIONAL CHAMPIOPNSHIP 2 years ago, and yes last year was ugly, but we had a very young offense with a confused quarterback, and the demising Crowton. Also you have to remember we are playing in the nation's toughest conference. If we were in any other conference we would likely be in the national title game almost every year. I think Les realizes that his offense is the main problem and will find a solid replacement for Gary, and next year we will have a great year and everyone will forget about this mess.

I think our expectations were too high for this year and because we are a 3 loss team everyone wants to blame the head guy. Its still not a horrible year if you consider the progress from last year. You can't fire someone from one mistake.

Crowton or no Crowton, Les is the head coach. He makes the final decision and he has the final say. Those three passes are all on him.

Do you really see folks blaming the won loss record?

Why do people keep bringing this up?

Gary Crowton's first instinct against UGA was to throw a pass when we were withine field goal range to win the game. It took a 19 year old QB talking Miles out of the play on the sidelines to save Crowton from himself. The same scenario played out Saturday, and Crowton goes to the shotgun/drop further back/and (i) incomplete pass, (ii) sack, and (iii) pass behind the line of scrimmage. Crowton needs to go. I can't imagine what Jefferson was thinking trying to decipher all of those stupid insanely complicated signals that called for three straight passes.

This is where it breaks down. With the game on the line, and the HC "suggests" running the ball, then the ball is run. The OC does not trump the HC.

Miles abdicated the authority on calling these plays to Crowton. Therefore, Miles is responsible for the abdication and result.

If this is actually what happened, then Crowton should fall on his sword and exit to parts unknown. Miles can live to fight another day, if he rights the offensive coaching staff by hiring a great OC, and if he agrees to go to seminars and conferences where game management is taught.

When Les Miles realizes that Les Miles is the problem, LSU will be a better football program.

It's not over.
Before the Ole Miss game, while I thought Ole Miss would win, I had more concern about Arkansas.

It is possible we lose the next 2 games.
Making it 1 and 4 down the stretch.

8-5 overall

Suggest it? We pay that guy almost 4 million dollars to suggest? He should always be directly involved with critical situations and over rule Crowton if he thinks that a wrong call is being made. Suggest? Gimme a break!!!

this sorta sounds like what he did with the D last year....

Miles is a figurine in LSU football, not a coach.
IMO
His money has been made and now he wants to be liked..he is a "wuzzy", you can't be politically correct when you are the boss, you need to be the boss.
