Does Welter prove his haters wrong this season?

I have been one of his biggest critics since last season. But, the guy looks like he's put on some serious weight, and CLM and Chief are raving about his progress from the spring through the summer. Could he possibly be a star of this super talented defense this season?
Btw, I like Beckwith to be at the Mike this season, but wanted to get the rants perspective.

I don't think he would get as much hate if Beckwith wasn't behind him. Mike linebacker is one position that experience can sometimes cover a lack of athleticism. Not that he isn't athletic but compared to Beckwith he's far off. We need that intelligent player that will remember what everyone needs to be doing when the pressure is on and other players nerves are getting the best of them. They will look to him in those times for stability... So the answer to your question is yes.
Probably won't ever be a star but his presence on the field will allow other players to become stars and fulfill their potential.

If Chief says he's improved, who am I to argue. I'm skeptical, but not dismissive. And to me, he did seem to improve as the season went on.
With so many young one's behind Welter in the D-backfield, I'll take moderate improvement and good playcalling/leadership.
