Oh I forgot about them.

I am hearing some rumors about why Rick Jones missed the game tonight. Anyone confirm the real reason?

Jones is on paid sick leave for the rest of the season. Heart problems.

That wasn't the rumor I heard. What I heard was more serious and could end up being the end of Rick Jones coaching at Tulane but I am not starting rumors, just asking if anyone else heard anything

Here is a link about Jones LOA. LINK

The cardiac issue is not mentioned but I believe that was in a follow up news release. His dad died from a heart attack at about the same age Jones is now.

Health condition bad enough to miss more than half the season is pretty serious if you ask me.

But yeah, the Rick Jones tenure is over.

I agree that pitching and defense are the keys for CWS championships these days. Gorilla ball is out! IF the Tigers can get timely hitting in regionals and CWS they have a shot at another championship. Still suspect on the clutch hitting when it counts. No problem with the pitching and defense. Top of the line! Geaux Tigers!

Getting hot when it counts is all that matters. UCLA wasn't tearing the cover off the ball in the regular season last year...but got hotter in Omaha. Weve got enough good hitting and pitching if we can just put it together down the stretch.

They are definately on their way up. I rather come in under the radar like ucla and just go ahead and win the whole thing.

UCLA was only somewhat under the radar in 2013. They were the number one seed in their regional. Fresno State in 2008 is a better example of an off the radar type of team that won it all.

LSU is 2nd in the SEC west. They have been swept by Vandy, but there is a lot of beiseball left.
