I'm referring to the "Les has won with Saban's players" argument that's become so popular. When Bama fans, or any fan for that matter, says that to me, I just don't really care. LSU won that title. It belongs in Baton Rouge at our school. I don't understand why people make such a big deal about the coach. Coaches will win and lose, impress and piss off, come and go, but their accomplishments are forever the university's. Maybe it's just me, but I couldn't give a flying frick if someone says our last two titles are because of Saban. It's just funny as hell because people think saying those guys were Saban's recruits somehow takes the title away from the university. I honestly could care less who wins them as long as they're won.

No. Because everyone knows that the players coached themselves after Saban left.

I love hearing the argument that our NC title from last year is somehow less of a title b/c we had 2 losses. I could care less if we had 4 losses....we still won the trophy.

Our title last year was more legit than our title in 2003 because we don't have to share it with anybody. Plus, we crushed the consensus number 1 instead of eeking out a win over an Oklahoma team with a cripple playing QB who got crused in their previous game.

Well, its like your fanbase claiming that since the SEC is weaker this year it is not impressive that UA has remained undefeated and is going to the SEC Championship game. That is just your fanbase trying to tarnish what UA has done, and I dont care how much weaker the SEC is this year, any team can win any given day and it is still impressive to remain unbeaten. however i would never use the "sabans players" arguement....unless of course you used the "shula's players" garbage!

No, it doesn't bother me at all, with the sole exception of when it comes from our own fans. In that case I try to keep in mind that much of our fanbase is probably like my coonass in-laws, who may or may not have driven through a university, but sure as shite never got accepted to one and yet are the biggest and loudest LSU fans around.

It's a stupid argument but we have as many stupid fans as any sports team in the world

I'm honestly being unbiased here, because I really have nothing against Bama, but ya'll are one of the most unimpressive 10-0 teams ever. Luckily a lot of the games you've struggled in were at home, or have had a player give the game away. I agree though, 10-0 is fantastic. Outside of the first half against UGA, Bama just hasn't looked good. I wouldn't care how LSU looked if we were 10-0 though. Style points don't really mean shite.

I saw tons of "Miles recruits" playing key roles in that National Championship run and victory.

Not to mention, who coached those guys through those 3 years? Air?

You won't hear me saying that. 10-0 with 5 road wins is huge, and it just gets bigger if you win your last two games. And if you beat UF and go to the NC 13-0? Well, you'll have gotten your money's worth from Saban. Hell, enjoy your season, it's been a great ride for y'all!

Hope we kick your arses all up and down the field in '09.

It bothers me, because they don't use that excuse for anyone else. When Coker won, they didn't say it was Butch Davis players. When The Vest won, they did say it was John Cooper's players, when Florida won, they didn't say it was Zook's players, yet we have to hear this shite. Total BS. Let me guess, if Saban wins, it won't be because of Shula's players.

dude the SEC is weaker, sorry, but LSU, AU and Arkansas and Tennessee are weaker than they have been in years. And no,we don't miss Saban, losing record to Tubby, never beat Spurrier, got slapped by coach Fran. I hope he does well for you guys, as long as he is 1 point worse than we are.

First of all thank you TigerPanzer and LSU=Awesome (except I hated typing that last name )

Africom, even if the SEC is weaker (which I agree it is) you can't seriously tell me that it is "unimpressive" for a team to go undefeated in the SEC, even in a weak year. Any SEC team can still beat any other SEC team any given day (Ole Miss is evidence). I am not saying UA is a domination fest, but merely that it is still impressive to go through the SEC undefeated, even in a weak year.
Also lets think about this (not bashing anyone)....the last few years you cant say winning the west was any harder. UA was bad and it was between LSU and AU. This years only difference in the West is that UA and AU have swapped place, LSU is SLIGHTLY weaker, Arkansas is bad and Ole Miss is better. So just by your logic, if winning the west was nothing this year, how was it "something" last year. Again not bashing anyone.

Best of luck against UF......seriously, that could get UGLY.

This will only make next year harder to swallow....because Bama loses 2-3 next year easily.
