You can watch the game from home. You’re also not the target audience. It creates a fun atmosphere that people want to be a part of. Yea the meat and potatoes is a football game, but having the other accoutrements makes the experience that much better.

You’re also making my point that their target audience isn’t you, or the basic football fan.

Do you tailgate? It’s part of the experience isn’t it? Why would you want to just show up at 5:30 for a 6:30 kick, watch the game and head home? Because it’s about the experience of game day and all that goes along with it. Makes it fun.

When tiger stadium is at its best no one in the country can compete with the atmosphere. Closest thing I’ve ever seen to a night game in tiger stadium was a white out game in 2013 Penn State.

That show isn't anything special and would get old real fast. Give me Dan Borne on the transition from day to night instead of that crap.

What we need is a dunking booth for former coaches who got fired. It should be in their contract. “If you are fired, you must attend LSU home games and participate in the dunking booth to collect the full amount of your contract”. But instead of just water, the booth is filled with gumbo.

Who wouldn’t pay to dunk Ed O in gumbo. Great way to raise NIL money too.

frick it. Just add a huge casino on one end of it (high rollers only of course). Another way to make NIL money.

Why not both? They could work in concert like at midnight when Fred’s plays thunderstruck and cuts the lights down. Goes up a notch for sure

You'd be wrong. Ticket sales and revenue in stadium from merchandise and concessions make LSU a ton of money. If people stop going to games, that's a big fricking deal.

I agree they make LSU a ton money, but ticket sales are pretty much guaranteed, and merchandising is killing it. Other than the out of conference games, there are very few single game tickets available. Even Army is a virtual sell out, regardless if there are 20K empty seats. Now if ticket sales drop, it would be an issue.

As for concessions, I am not privy to how the deal with Aramark is structured, but I would be willing to bet the majority of that deal comes from the negotiated vendor contract, with actual sales being statistically irrelevant to LSU. By that, I mean it doesn't make LSU that much more money if people are leaving after the half instead of sticking around to buy a few more cokes and hot dogs.

And this is the actual issue. From an accounting perspective, LSU is a cash cow as long as the program is competitive.

If you don’t have a suite or Stadium Club tickets and a parking pass, LSU and TAF DGAF what you think.

Honestly, I go to a lot of away games every year and to be honest, I don’t see where our stadium is better or worse than 90% of the rest of experiences. There is only so much you can do with over 100,000 folks when they are all in the same building.

The most important thing that would improve the Tiger Stadium atmosphere would be to cut down on the length of TV timeouts.

I remember back in the old days when most games were on Tigervision. The action kept moving and there wasn't a dull moment. Broadcast and ESPN games did happen, but they were mostly games that everyone was going to be engaged in anyway (aTm, Auburn, Bama, Florida.)

What you didn't have to do is sit around while red hat guy holds up a sign counting down the 4 minute timeout after every possession against Grambling.

The timeouts don't seem like much at home, but they are brutal in the stadium

Unfortunately, the AD can't do anything about it.

GEAUX TIGERS!

PS: My son was in the Auburn Band in 2018-2021 and visited both Tiger Stadium and Kyle Field that last year. He said Kyle Field was much more intimidating. (I, of course, disowned him for this. ;-) )

I’m sorry you’re half a f@g. Fans used to go to the game to watch the game. Shame you missed that era.

Yep. They need to get the DJ out of there. Piped in music could still be cut back a bit and less announcing of stuff. We’d be right back on top.

Some of you miserable fricks have this insane obsession with our sports facilities and " game experience". Every fricking sport from Tiger Stadium, PMAC, Alex Box ,Tiger Park etc. Why can't you just sit your arse in your seats for 2 to 3 hours and just enjoy the fricking game without all of these sissy frills. Stay the frick home if you don't like it. It gets old. This state and Tiger supporters are not drowning in money and with NIL becoming more important there will not be extra money for all of these luxuries you candy asses are constantly whining about.
