Have you seen enough to decide he's the QB of the future?

Obviously not and im not saying he cant lose the job this spring

But the people saying Jennings has no arm, no "qb iq" (whatever the hell that means), is JJ 2.0, and all that other crap while also spouting off how great Harris is right now or Rettig or Rivers is asinine frankly. The complete overeaction from this board is out of control. But im not suprised, there were so many "bench mett for Rivers" threads in 2012 it was comical.

Wow what a dick. I don't think you understand the meaning of a scholarship offer. You don't take someone's scholarship that they earned away just because he is not a starter.

um, actually if they are a junior and still 3rd team, you strongly encourage them to look elsewhere, if that doesn't work you find a disciplinary reason or academic reason or injury reason to get them to move on. Have to make room for the new recruiting class. This doesn't apply to Rivers at this time but could after this season. ON th other hand he could the starting QB in another year.

Nothing against Jennings at all but is there an open competition on the spring with Jennings, Rivers and Rettig?

He's saying that Hill was the primary running back because Magee who had the second most carries had 117 carries less than Hill and the 3 backs behind him combined to carry the ball just 22 more times than him. It's not hard to figure out and the other post did nothing to prove your point.

I don't know if Les will give Rivers a shot, but I got the impression from CLM's comments after the bowl game that Jennings will not be an automatic starter next year.

The one bad thing about being 6'7 as a QB is it makes it a LOT easier to telegraph your passes to the DBs as they can read your eyes a lot quicker than say a 6'3 or 6'4 QB. could be one of the things that is holding him back. I don't know.

Harris is the QB with the most talent though. Rocket arm like Mett, height and the speed and fluid movement of an athlete. He'll need to put on muscle and he's to raw for the SEC right now. He is a true dual threat and will be ridiculous in two years.

so, eitehr AJ is gonna suck for 2 years while BH gets ready or BH is gonna sit the bench until his junior/senior year.

I believe most have overlooked Rettig because Jennings came in and jumped him in the rotation. I can only hope that once spring rolls around the QB competition will be open. I'm skeptical as hell, Les has been known to be slightly mule headed. We can all only sit back and see what happens.

Guy's who ever is Les's pet will play no matter if he had Manning! Les doesn't always play his best player at any one position. As for Rivers, he has a great arm but he has a very slow delivery. I think the qb position is wide open. I thing Jennings will be fine but not sure he will be our qb next season because of his play in the bowl game. May turn out great, just to soon to tell.

I was on the outer edges of a group talking to Cam Cameron at a private function. One of the guys asked him specifically about Rivers. From Cam's mouth to my ears: Don't write him off just yet. He has a lot of tools and I (Cam) can see him on the field next year (2014). Believe it or don't. Makes no difference to me.

That's because Cam doesn't completely grasp the offensive genius of Leslie Miles!

How about comparing their first starts?

Both were true freshman
Both late in the year starts
Both starts due to injuries

JJ - 9/21/0 (43%) 143 yds, 4 sacks (L)
AJ - 7/19/1 (37%) 82 yds, 4 sacks (W)

I'm seeing a whole lot of similarities. And before you say that AJ will have Cam to help, well Rivers was with Cam too. Didn't seem to help him

Brandon Harris could very well be pushing AJ for playing time next year anyways.
Considering the circumstances, AJ didn't play that bad in the bowl game.
