Also, Maravich played during a time of integration in college basketball. Perry Wallace (Vanderbilt) was the first black player in the SEC in 1967, the first year PM is credited with statistics. So there are plenty of contextual asterisks to go with these numbers. There are lots of different ways to look at it. LSU didn't have a black player until Collis Temple in 1971, after Maravich was gone to the NBA. So while PM did play against black players, he did not have black teammates with LSU.
If LSU would've gotten out in front on recruiting black players, there were undoubtedly some opportunities for championships.
Imagine Maravich playing with Elvin Hayes (from Rayville) in 1967-68! With PM's ability as a passer, Hayes could have averaged ~50 points a game unless defenses started overplaying him, which would only open up more opportunities for Maravich to score.

I am not googling it, but does she actually have underarm hair?

I’m sure it was still better competition than what Clark plays against

The ONLY thing Clark has in common with The Pistol, is underarm hair.
Comparing the two records is obviously ridiculous but there’s no need to shite on the girl. She’s an incredible player.

Don't do this to yourselves, folks.
Mass Media IS GOING to trumpet and herald Clark as the All Time College Basketball scoring Champ. Not Maravich. Mass Media will make a point out of mentioning Clark as the one that has finally beaten Pete's record.
It is going to happen. Don't allow it to provoke you into anger. Just accept that Mass Media is going to make this point FOREVER.
The fact that Pete and Clark play in two different sports will be ignored by Mass Media.
