Just because a kid is from a low income doesn't make him a low IQ player lol that's crazy.

the team does not play solid basketball.

it has NOTHING to do with the talent.

two years ago they had M and M and TQ. talent aplenty.

they still managed to lose - looking stupid in the process. a reflection on the players and the coach. hair pulling stuff.
I present, the home game vs mighty U of K:
in the home game vs U of K, which was close to the end, TQ stepped over the end line twice in the last two minutes of the game. stupid. just awful. TQ is on the deep bench in the NBA and M and M are pulling down NBA money too.

Oh by the way, LSU led Kentucky in that game but made it into a close loss with a series of floor errors that preceded TQ stepping out of bounds, twice.

sorry to share such "old" details. I can still see the nightmare in my mind's eye.
Same as you all can still see PP7 swiping the ground after the INT and the ball being given back to the other team. We remember EVERYTHING.

2 things to add....

1.Most of our basketball talent is playing football instead. For example Mingo played basketball up til his Jr. year of high school and his assistant principal talking him in to tying out for football.... look at the size of defensive players at LSU. I bet if you look most of the played basketball in high school.

2.
quote:

Karl Malone - La Tech (Summerfield, LA)- how did Dale miss on him?

Malone wasnt a D1 prospect out of high school...... what he did was from hard work from Coach Welch and Peterson!

As long as CT Jr's sperm stays in tact and 20-somethings are still willing to play the part, LSU can always put out good talent.

ESPN's top 100 from La.

9. Mitchell Robinson- Signed with WKU
71. Galen Alexander- Signed with LSU
72. Josh Anderson- Signed with WKU

In the top 40 class ranking... LSU is not in it. How do we lose 2 top 100 in state players to Western Kentucky.

This is top recruits from Louisiana.
LINK

With the state of the program, LSU should focus on instate talent. I am sure there are 5 players on our roster these 5 recruits from La could replace.. One is going to ULL, one to South Alabama..

One name... Mitchell Robinson 5 star 7 footer from chalmette. He'll be in college next year. These are stars that tiger fans don't hear about but louisiana produces yearly.

There is a ton of basketball talent in Louisiana. But the majority of elite players do not go to LSU.

The point guard from Scottlandville is the real deal. As far as the 7 footer from Chalmette is concerned, I have seen him play and LSU could sure use him. Although he signed with WESTERN Kentucky, from what I understand he may have to go the JUCO route because of academic issues.

Jalen Cook freshman at Walker High is a stud. They also have an 8th grader at North Corbin junior high in Walker is a stud too. He had a badass dunk last night.

Higher academic standards in Louisiana have adversely affected the number available players. Some of the better athletes down to the mlddle school level are not eligible to participate because they either can't or won't make their grades. Some don't even get to tenth grade. I have witnessed this first hand.

Yes, louisiana has great talent in all sports. Louisiana is known nationally for having great athletic talent per capita, hence all of the bigtime schools across the country coming here ND trying to poach recruits from our state. It's a pretty well known fact that louisiana is a hotbed for athletic talen across the board.

Then my opinion of the coaches and dudes in da parish has just taken a hit. Used to be that boys from da parish would stay in state whether they went to Chalmette, HC or Hannan. I can think of only one major prospect that went out of sate from Chalmette and that was 35 plus years ago.

No argument from me on this, but Jones recruited Mickey from the Dallas area, Quarterman from Savannah and Hornsby from JC byway of UNC Charlotte....yeah Jarrell Martin was from B.R..

Still gets me how with those guys they were not able to blow out the entire SEC two years ago....hell, three years ago with O'Bryant and M&M they should have controlled the league. No way they should have only been NIT. No way in 2015 they should have lost to NC State

We should have not lost half of the games we did with Simmons on the team.

But most of those guys were from out of state. He should have been up some one's arse at Chalmette and grooming the kid from Landry Walker...he was not unknown prior to last year if I'm hearing things correctly.
