Not sure that applies here. I'm happy with it and see this almost like a Brexit - We just have to give it a shot.

The stupidity spewed here is the reason I removed my LSU logo a long time ago.

Market value is out the window when it comes to a man's dream coming true, and I'll take O over Anything in Sexton's fruit bowl. Give me a hungry coach.
Keep sir smooch-a-man, too.

Absolutely. It pisses me off and shows our administration isn't serious about winning championships. We should be amoung the highest

That so far is actually the ONLY positive I can come up with regarding Coach Oeaux's hire!

The problem is as a bunch of posters have already pointed out "you usually get what you pay for"

Ding ding ding. Let them earn their money instead getting more by threatening to leave.

It bothers me that we just hired the most unqualified hire in big 6 history. No big 6 sec program HAS EVER ELEVATED A POSITION COACH TO HC. We are the being laughed at. Ed orgeron wouldnt get interviews at Kentucky,Vandy, or miss st.

So youre happy having a hc that HAS NEVER RAN A SUCCESSFUL OFFENSE, DEFENSE, OR PROGRAM? Congrats, youre the reason we will never reach Bama's level.

OP regardless of anyone's take on the issue why would it? If O turns out to be successful then we will have gotten a great bargain. If he doesn't well then we got what we paid for.

Why would it bother me that we're paying him his worth until he proves he can win consistently?

there's no reason to pay or overpay. He proves himself he gets a payraise. If not, hopefully they invest those saved pennies so that they can throw them at someone later.

Either case, win win

Where did having one of the highest paid staffs get them?

No they didn't.

This myth needs to fricking stop. At one time, lsu had the highest paid coordinators. Not entire staff. Big diff. Teams like tOSU spend a shite load more than LSU and everyone else in the country.

This would be an argument against coach o, LSU will have the highest paid coordinators again, how did that turn out before?

You think it means ed orgeron settled for less money because lsu was his dream job. We are telling you he settled for less because he has never ran a successful side of the ball nor has he ever ran a successful program.

You know ignorant myths rarely die here. Hell how long did it take for the ," myles plays less talented upperclassmen" myth to die?
Hell there is an ignorant myth that LF has average vision as a rb when every single scouting report says his vision is one of his best attributes.
