Look at Gavin Dugas drafted in the 6th round for 20K. They can underpay and do for seniors. They had one team draft a whole bunch of seniors in their top 10 picks so they could underpay them and pay everyone else at the top. They wanted their other top underclass/high schoolers to get the money.

He came back after his sophomore season. He did it because the combination of his SEC hitting and his defensive play at first base needed to show improvement if he wanted to get a higher draft position.
The Milam situation is not the same, though he could benefit from showing a bit more pop in his bat, because he would lose leverage. The caveat is if they pass the 5 for 5 and he gets one extra year. Then he has something to consider.
Curiel is closer to the Jones situation (since he is a sophomore), except he really has very little to improve on, except maybe showing a little more power.

I don’t think Milam flashes enough bat. He will struggle in the minors. Now his glove is a different story. Gotta see how the draft goes. I could see Milam making gumbo commercials and staying for a chunk of NIL.
