Does Clemson have any receivers we can not match up with?

I understand they have height but who is faster than our DBs? Can't we single cover any of them?

OSU had great success against their unstoppable receivers. The Wade ejection didn’t even change much. Okudah is the top corner in this draft, but stingley is likely that guy in 2 years. He may not be as polished as Okudah (he’s pretty damn good as a frosh) but he should be fine
Osu shut down their passing game basically overall

It certainly helped not having to defend our best WR the entire first half.
Notice when he came back after half we averaged over 7 yards a play. He didn’t have a huge impact directly but obviously his presence on the field opened up other stuff.

Are you trying to claim that Clemson had success through the air against OSUs DBs?

Tee Higgins is legit. I’ve seen him make some ridiculous catches on the sideline that looked impossible. But Clemson can’t do that every play.

I did notice that, came away not impressed at all. Clemson was blowing away competition on offense all season and faced actual competition for first time this season. But yeah I expected Clemson to win and boy my cousins are jumping for joy that Clemson won. I was going to talk some shitt to them if Clemson lost in the semis but Clemson does what they do to get to finals. Will be a damn good game. I'm sure excited for this one. LSU played with a few backups to start the semi finals vs Oklahoma and won easy. Ohio St always chokes in big games like that, the reason penalties like targeting, interference call when ball not catchable, and running into kicker and if Dobbins had secured that ball for a TD. That game would not be the same but Ohio St always makes those mistakes. It was expected for Clemson to win. Lsu was already looking at prior film of Clemson before they play Ohio St.

The real problem is covering Etienne out of the backfield.
LSU will have to tackle well. If Etienne breaks a tackle here or there, look out.

I agree that Etienne is the biggest threat.
Okudah should have won the Thorpe over Delpit. That said, Stingley and Fulton are by far the best CB tandem in the country. Hell, Stingley should have won the Thorpe before Delpit.
And, I'm not bashing Delpit. He is healthy now, and with the emergence of true frosh Hampton to play on the back end, Delpit can play closer to the line and be his usual disruptive self again. He had a really solid game against Hurts.

Etienne not the biggest threat catching the ball . That was game planning . Higgens the biggest threat . The real question is how deep does your coverage go if we line up in 5 wide or empty backfield? When you line up in 5 wide we will have problems .

We can get pressure w 4 or 5. Clemson 5 wide w all the dbs we have (and lbs who run like dbs) is not a favorable match up for y’all.

quote:very well for us. Flott has been very solid. Vincent was abused early in the season but he has been solid lately, especially at safety. We have plenty of dbs. As said, you will have problems covering all of our weapons. We are deep and our players are very complimentary, several wrs, good tes, good rbs.

Geezus, are you Bucknuts soooo insecure that you havce to get on the boards of the winners to contibue to whine about how great your football team is ??
That's why they play the game - so the talking can be over - It's over. TL's 260 yards passing was enough to send y'all on home - so go on home and whine to your mother.

I mean I answered the question and said that LSU should be able to contain them pretty well after watching OSU's 1st round corners do it.
Maybe your 7th post will be more informative

If you don't know who Tee Higgins is, you simply don't follow college football

I think we can cover them, Stingley is excellent at 50-50 balls and using the sideline and Kristian Fulton is an excellent corner too. If we have to make adjustments you can put Delpit on one of them because he’s 6-3 or put a Marcel Brooks on them because Brooks is fast enough and good enough. Receivers that no one could match up with would be like an Arik Gilbert.

Clemson has talent.
They are not in the finals because they do not.
PRESSURE on Lawrence will play a big part and Etienne will be trying to prove a point which I do not understand since he did not want LSU.

Both of our corners are great at covering boundary routes. Fulton is competitive on inside routes, too, but Stingley is not (don't freak out about that [true] statement -- it is not a knock on Stingley as he is still developing a complete game). Vincent is hot/cold, as everybody knows. He'll win one play and then get absolutely burned on the next. Delpit and Hampton can cover. Stevens really shouldn't be matched up with a WR at all.
If Clemson is smart, they will attack the middle of the field with Higgins and Ross, rather than the sideline. This would be a departure from what they've done all year. They should target Stingley on inside slants and crossing routes, and they should target Vincent and Stevens in the slot. If they resort to heaving the ball down the sidelines, which is what they have done all year, they are playing to our strength. Those are 50-50 balls and our guys have proven more than capable of winning those battles.
