Players are so quick to jump to the nba that I’m wondering if he comes back. I think he would really benefit from another year but I wouldn’t be shocked if he left. Curious on others opinions.

I see absolutely no way he comes back.
Tye emergence of the G-League as a legitimate minor league for the NBA benefit guys like him.

At worst, he gets a 2-way contract and is getting professional coaching and is playing against professional coaches every day.

I don’t think he is the type of guy that works his way into a top-10 pick, although I can fully admit that I am not as familiar with this or next year’s top prospects.

He’s a lock for the first round ( projected 13th) no way he turns down millions... I wouldn’t

If he's smart and listens to good advice, he will. He can't do anything at all except score by taking a bunch of shots. He isn't an efficient scorer either. 30% from 3, but jacks up an average of almost 8 per game. He can't rebound, find other open players, play defense, and he doesn't have great size. He needs to look at Javonte and how his game has improved since he got to LSU. Smart went from shooting 37% FG and 31% from 3 to 49% FG and 45% from the arc. Those numbers (and Smart's draft stock) have only gone up because he stayed.

160 / 393 field goals for 40%.

52 / 170 on three point attempts for 30%.

Nope.

All one has to do is look at the current roster and the next signing class. LSU has no seniors on this roster. The scholarships vacated by BPJ and Manning have been filled by Alex Fudge (2020 mid year signee who is redshirting) and Seneca Knight (mid season transfer). Everyone on the current roster has remaining eligibility. If they all stayed then LSU would have no open scholarships for next season. However, LSU signed 3 players in the fall (Colbert, Murray, Ezewiro). That means 3 scholarships have to open at the end of this season.

I suppose it is possible Wade could nudge 1, 2, 3 guys out the door to bring Thomas, Watford and Smart back for next season. But I suspect his recruiting strategy tells you all three have long decided this is their final year at LSU

I know putting the numbers up like you constantly do make you feel good. But I’m sure that in a few months the numbers in his bank account will be much more comforting to him.

Dude has a game made for the NBA.

The NBA drafts based on potential. They care about the player he will be 2-3 years from now, not the player he is today.

He can also get the same if not better development in the g-league. The coaching is geared more towards the NBA game and the competition is better.

He's potentially the worst defensive player in the NBA

He was a one and done coming in here. Big reason why he came to LSU was because Wade guaranteed him minutes and shots. With the season he's had, I see no way he's changed his mind on that.
