People said the miles firing wasn't going to happen. There was even somebody saying the Johnny Jones firing wasn't going you happen. Lots of people said orgeron getting the HC job wasn't going to happen. Aranda coming back this year wasn't going to happen. Who knows with these people? In any case if the Crony posse is still in charge, they will screw up the next hire anyway. Need to get rid of several of them first.

Some of you so called business purists are really missing the point about basic Economics 1001 not to mention second level Economics 2010. Now we all know that LSU is being run by a bunch of dumb asses right now but I believe they have the common sense to know that if this football team goes 0-8 or even 1-7 in the SEC, the monies that flow into the Academics from the AD will be all but dried up. The 12 million dollar buyout over a prorated period of time will be peanuts compared to the revenues lost if you continue with this O experiment and it continues to go south which seems pretty inevitable at this point.

And the buyout is prorated. So it's already below $12M.

The buyout is prorated, but it's $12m at the end of the year. It is not below $12m right now and won't be until next year.

Edit: I was wrong. He is right.

We're talking about $12M not $120M...

And, like Les Miles, can be paid out over a period of time.

LSU didn't even try before settling for Zero.

this is my main issue. If they had struck out everywhere and it was jan 01 and you still had no coach and you go for O that makes sense but to hire him before cyber monday.

They MAY have common sense, but that future income loss can be denied, covered up, or blamed on somebody else. They would have to take responsibility for writing that check. You don’t have to convince me that firing O is the right thing to do. I just live in the real world, I know it’s not going to happen this year. Financially and politically impossible. Gotta hope he hits a kid or covers up a crime so we can fire for cause. Somebody start snooping.

I could think of 80 million reasons why they would.

I haven’t thought about it until now, but seeing as how we have crashed and burned since he left, Les should get more credit for our success and may start looking more attractive as a head coach candidate.

I could almost tolerate a couple of 4-8 seasons if it meant being rid of ADA Jack McCoy.
