Miles hasn't had the most success of any coach in the SEC since his time here
I never said he did.
I said:
"What "Leslie" has done is to win more SEC West games since 2005 than any other school in the SEC West, LSU has won as many SEC West titles as any other school in the west in that time, as many NC's as any school in the nation save Fla, be ranked in the Top 5 among BCS schools in wins, have 4 of 6 seasons with at least 11 wins (tops in the SEC), have 4 of 6 seasons NR in the Top 8 (tops in the SEC), and be 29-1 in OOC games (tops in the BCS).
All of this done at a time when the SEC is the deepest, most powerful conference in the nation as witnessed by the fact the SEC has won 5 BCS titles since 2005 by 4 different members."
And the above IS the best overall performance in LSU history and NO school in the SEC since 2005 has had four 11 win seasons, 4 Top 8 NRs, and a 29-1 OOC record besides LSU.
Miles is winning 80% of his games, has a NC, has LSU 14-2 in our last 16 games, and has LSU NR @ #2 after finishing @ #8 last season.
Please, let NS go and enjoy the best 6 year run in our history.

I don't have to let him go. The SOB walked out on us on Christmas day. He's been gone for a really long time. Just because I mention something negative about Miles doesn't mean that I think that Saban is infallible.
And, all of the winning % and stats you mentioned don't mean that Les doesnt't have some serious flaws that can make him unlikable as a head coach.

btw, I created this in honor of Les Miles.

I don't hate the guy. I just still question him as a coach.

Mark Richt had 3 SEC Title appearances in his first 5 years. Meyer had 3 in his first 5 years. Saban had 2 in his first 4 years and has had 3 in his last 6 years in the league. Tubberville had 2 in his first 6 years at Auburn. So apparently Miles is underperforming when compared to other great coaches in the league.
Miles had 2 in his first 3 years. 1 in a year with hurricane katrina.

Please, I would take Miles anyday of the week over Richt and Tuberville. Seems like Richt is on the hot seat once again, not Miles.

quote:He (and/or the circumstances) haven't always made it easy. For whatever reason, his teams appear to consistently be close game teams. That can hurt and help, but it definitely gives fans a heart attack and enrages those wanting to see Florida-esque blowouts. But it does pay-off when you see the team (07-style) down or close with 3 minutes left in the game, remain focused and poised and get the win.
I don't hate the guy. I just still question him as a coach.

Miles is actually having a pretty similar career path than Richt for the time being. Richt had 61 wins through 6 seasons with two seasons with less than 10 wins (one 8 win and one 9 win season). Les has 62 wins through 6 seasons with two seasons with less than 10 wins (one 8 win and one 9 win season).
Richt has 3 seasons with 2 or less losses (including one 1 loss season). Miles has 4 seasons with 2 losses. Each have had one season with a losing record in the SEC, Miles in year 4, Richt in year 10.
It'll be interesting to see how the careers begin to differentiate (hopefully) from this point onward.

And the "flaws" you see in Miles as a coach doesn't mean that he's not a damn good coach as demonstrated my our consistent winning for 6+ seasons which equates to a Top 5 level in winning percentage among BCS schools since 2005.
Yes, the man has flaws, but when we look at flaws to the point that we loose sight of how just freakng great (65-17, 29-1, 34-15 in the SEC, 5-1 bowls, 25 wins over Top 25 teams, 10 wins over Top 10 teams) the LSU run under the guy has been then I think we reach the "I just love to complain so I will level". imo
But each to our own.......

It's enough for some retards to say that Flynn was better than JR.
I would rather have Flynn than JR on my team.

quote:If UGA had taken care of what was in their control they would have been undefeated. As far as Auburn, that's the system they/we agreed to.
The point is one team took care of what was in their control and was left out due to circumstances beyond their control.
quote:bullshite. To say they didn't care what was in their control is plainly stupid. And while some of the circumstances that got them into the game was beyond their control, they still earned the right to be in that position in the first place and were the best team to play in the NCG.
The other team didn't take care of what was in their control and got in due to circumstances beyond their control. It's a pretty clear distinction.
