Does anyone expect BK to hire a special teams coach after the season?

I know he loves the fair catch, but opportunities are being left on the field.

Id hope a coach that is detailed oriented would pick up on this.

Hopefully he starts with an all new defensive staff.

You watch this team and think special teams is the problem?

I just hate watching the other teams gunners go untouched. We do not try and block at all. Punt return is sad to watch.

With our offense, just don't turn the ball over. We have done a good job of that at least.

With this offense, I am fine with a fair catch every time. As long as they don’t turn it over.

Secure the catch and let JD take over. He can score from anywhere in the field.

How about 2 offside penalties on kickoffs last game. One negated a good tackle around the 13 yard line.

Had my first-round interview yesterday. told him that if I got the job, I would never put a returner back since it's unhealthy for all tRants mental health.

Go back and look at the ND fans criticism of BK on priority with regards to ST and you will have your answer.

Very few. Most of the fair catches were the correct call, I'd say the vast majority. Especially with this offense.

They are not mutually exclusive. ST can suck as well as the defense. And do.

Not turning it over is the advantage with this offense.

We need an occasional field goal made sometimes. We have been half arse at that I guess.

We need our kick offs to give the opposing offense as long of a field as possible, cause our defense is arse. We have done that.

With our offense and special teams as is, if we could field a competent defense, this season would be totally different.

Your goal is to win all 3 phases. A game can turn on a good or bad ST play.

It cost us FSU last year, killed any momentum against Tenn last season and could have cost us against Florida last week.

If you're just going to fair catch every punt, why not just rush 11 and try to get a block?

Not the same ST coordinator so this doesn't apply.

So that's all we got? Fired for one muffed kick off.

I feel you, but after last year… I will take us actually catching the ball.

Punt, punt return, and fg kicking are the areas where an advantage can be had.

Kicking is ok.
Punting is ok.
Punt return has been below average imo

There have been multiple KOs out of bounds as well. The FG and punting has been good, but we've had coverage breakdowns and a non-existent return game.

We're a P5 football team. Not having a return game because we fear turnovers is substandard.

You can't rely on our offense being so good that field position doesn't matter.
