In another thread you see the problem with these posters. They don’t understand why it isn’t working. Besides the fanatical mcmen there’s your answer for the odd counter arguments to firing him.

Is a larger symptom of what LSUs become post Saban. A lot of fear, a lot of low risk mentality. Things that don’t lend itself to success in competition.

I think the odds favor him getting another year. I don't see any sense of urgency on the part of the LSU administration. Moreover, I don't think that there is a faucet of money in terms of donor, TAF funds that can be turned on.
We have three signed recruits coming in and I assume that they'll attempt to address other needs via the portal in April which will be closed by the April 21.
The PTB know that hiring a P4 level hoops coach is a crap shoot with no guarantees. For every Todd Golden there's a Mike Rhoades. Rhoades had a very successful stint at VCU after Will Wade but has bombed at Penn State.
Mostly though I just don't think there's the appetite for another big athletics financial move. We went all in on Kiffin and canning Kelly.

I would just hate it for everyone involved including McMahon if they run it back. It’s going to be the most apathetic season in the history of the program. Worse than Brady’s first season. Probably worse than Johnny’s last. We’ll have a pathetic roster with a lame duck staff. Zero fan support or interest. I would think it would be a pretty miserable situation for any coach especially a classy guy like McMahon. Just do it now so everyone can move on and be better for it.
